My amended return experience

I needed to file an additional state return to my 2015 taxes because of property sold in California. I owed no federal capital gain tax, as I qualified for the $500,000 exclusion, but did not file California state income tax, as I was no longer a resident. Your telephone service agent was most helpful and worked with me to resurrect my 2015 TurboTax return and add the state tax addendum to it.
What's great about it: Was handled excellently by your staff
What's not so great: None that I can think of

Great Program

TurboTax is awesome, and I love how it walks me through the process and asked the questions. Easy to follow and easy to understand. It is worth every penny and I no longer pay hundreds to have someone else mess with our information.
What's great about it: This makes doing and filing so easy, I am horrible about getting them done, and then I do and poof sooo easy
What's not so great: none that I can find
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Why did you change everything? This platform used to be super simple to where I could complete things in an hour. Now, it's a convoluted mess.

I know my filing status and would like to select it immediately rather than answer a series of questions for TurboTax to decipher what's right for me. On some questions I need that service, on other questions I don't.
What's great about it: Easy. Clear.

Overall an excellent product. The only shortfall is backing out of a multi-step process. i.e. if the section has six items and you're at number 4 and decide to back out. Otherwise, done, checked, and sent in record time even with simple stock transactions and no special product purchased.

My TurboTax Experience

I have been using TurboTax to file my federal and state returns since 2003 and I like how easy it is to use TurboTax. Also, it is less expensive than using an accountant or tax preparation service.
What's great about it: Clear, comprehensive instructions
