Great for Federal but State needs improvement

Have been using TurboTax for over 15 years. Tax filing in general has only gotten more complicated and cumbersome, but TurboTax does a pretty decent job on the Federal part. Sometimes, however, the easy-step is over-simplified, leaving you with unanswered questions and the need to consult further, away from TurboTax. State filings are really sub-standard, but maybe it is because of the specific states. When I was an IL resident a few years ago, it was a nightmare to use TurboTax. NY is also extremely complicated, but more logical than IL. Nevertheless, I only wish that the State programs were better integrated with the Federal program.
What's great about it: Easy dialog and ability to check forms simultaneously
What's not so great: Coordination between States and Federal could be better

Great program with ONE important exception...

I spent WAY too much time trying to figure out where to enter Clergy Housing Allowance. On one additional business form It popped up but no where else and didn't apply there.
So I try to find a place to put it...different each year and hope doe the best. Please provide a place for it. Thanks.

2015 Return

I really like the way Turbo Tax has created their product. It is simple, straight forward, and easy. The prompts are spot on! I prefer using TT so I am intimate with all the details of my return instead of dumping my tax files on an accountant's desk and then having no way of knowing if the results are right or not. TT comes with a guarantee that they will be right!
What's great about it: Simple, strightforward, easy

While in the medical additional expenses screen and had entered additional charges previous year but did not have those this year. Asks to delete and no matter what I did, I could not delete the entries.
What's great about it: Less to type in
What's not so great: Took over 15 minutes to figure how to get rid of

This is an excellent product. I have tried others but have always come back to TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy to use and it gives appropriate hints as the return information is entered.
What's not so great: I don't have any cons to talk about.

What can I say...it works

I have been using TurboTax since the 80's it has proven to be reliable. Although this year's return had some Capital gains that some of the details did not transfer from the federal return to the state's (Oklahoma). It indicated an error on the state return, but the description detail about the error was unclear. To make things worse the help system offered no relief. The only way to correct the errors were to go directly to the appropriate form in the state return and edit it. If I had not done this before it could have been a real frustrating event. Most of the data errors were date entries.
What's great about it: Handles all the forms necessary to file
What's not so great: need to pay for state electronic filing when the state offers it free but you need to recreate your return on their form
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax never disappoints! I tried another company's tax software a few years ago and ended up buying Turbo Tax anyway. Live and learn.

Solid program with very good support

Discovered that by not using questions, almost lost out on credit that would have cost me, so be careful if you choose not to do step-by-step. Otherwise program is quite good, though some additional detail about Health Insurance Marketplace plans would be welcome until everyone understands them better. Call in support was very helpful to get some tricky areas addressed.
What's great about it: Used call in support and found them very helpful and knowledgable
What's not so great: You need to be careful if you don't walk through the questionnaires...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
