I have been using TurboTax for years. Overall it is OK. I just wish it had clearer instructions. I got stumped on the health insurance portion. I always get stumped on the city taxes.
What's great about it: Step by step process
What's not so great: Need clearer instructions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Finally Finished!

Due to my few papers, I navigated through the modules quickly. I appreciate the deduction reminders of car tags and medical expenses.

Tedious and expensive

Changes inadequately explained. Correct logins never accepted unless password updated. Filing & payments times out due to this so must start over repeatedly until it finally works. Payment page uses too small print - difficult to see. e-file costs rise too much every year. Intuit is determined to raise costs and difficulties for their users to increase their own pocket books - little care for end user. Ultimately, this will push people away because it is too difficult to use Intuit products even considering the hassles of changing programs.
What's great about it: Using the same tax program year after year simplifies matters
What's not so great: Just filing & payment took over 30 minutes due to log in problems

Turbo-tax was hanging

Downloaded TurboTax and updated it, was running under Win-8. Over period of 8 hours the program hangs more than 10 times. Hanging means not responding while taking 17% of CPU power.
Fortunately each time it was able to recover the Tax return file so I was able finally to complete and file my returns.

What's great about it: Well-structured for income and for deductions
What's not so great: TurboTax was handing more than 10 times over one day.

Always solid, never perfect

When you go back to correct a minor error, it takes you through EVERY step again instead of having a simple way to go back to where you were.
Shows comparisons to previous year entries only AFTER you enter this year's; information should be in front of you while you're working on it.
Needs to support adding additional documents as PDF's, or notes in any form, before filing electronically.
