Turbo Tax 2015 - A Study in Frustration

This was a terrible CD. It did not work properly from the beginning. I finally figured out how to get it going and after answering a zillion questions and filling in a million blanks, I end up with taking the standard deduction, which is what I wanted. Why is there no choice at the beginning for people like me who know they want the short form? I spent a whopping four hours on this thing and at the end I chose to e file (I had an extension) and could never get to the page where it tells you to submit. I kept getting routed back to the same page over and over and told to make a selection. I clicked to e file both returns and clicked on the continue button. It routed me back to the same page where there was a blue arrow that said "selection", but it didn't allow me to select anything. I finally called a friend who is a tax preparer and after a lengthy conversation she gave me the addresses so that I can just mail in my returns. I WILL NEVER BUY TURBO TAX AGAIN. I WILL PAY A TAX PREPARER TO DO MINE. IT WILL BE WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY.
What's great about it: It brought up the names of all the charities to which I donated
What's not so great: It took me an hour or more to just get the thing started. I finally went on youtube and got a answer.

VERY GOOD TAX PREP PROGRAM

WHILE CHANGING THE PROGRAM IS DEFINETELY NECESSARY FROM TIME TO TIME: I WOULD RECOMMEND KEEPING THAT TO A MINIMUM.
MOST OF US AMATUER USERS ONLY MAKE ONE OR TWO RETURNS SO LEARNING NEW STUFF FROM YEAR TO YEAR IS A BIT OF A BURDEN.
ALL IN ALL, TURBO IS A GOOD ACCURATE PROGRAM.
I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR 15 YEARS AND HAVE HAD NO AUDIT TROUBLE OR QUESTIONS FROM THE IRS.
YAHOO!

What's great about it: ONE CAN FOLLOW TURBO THROUGH THE WHOLE TAX CODE OR SELECT THE PARTS THAT ARE PERTENANT
What's not so great: SOMETIMES FORMAT CHANGES DON'T MAKE SENSE.

Better than Expected!

Asked me questions about deductions I have overlooked in previous years. Means I don't have to keep up with the tax code.
Some explanations were not clear. I ended up reading the relevant IRS documents which I understood better. Who knew?!
Overall, a great way to do taxes.
What's great about it: Very thorough. You can choose to be walked through each stage or zoom through on your own.
What's not so great: None really, although I did check some explanations online.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Excellent -- Again!

After years of using TurboTax, I could not be more pleased with developments and enhancements to the interface. I also appreciate how robust the program can be. Often, I get interrupted while doing tax prep. That means picking up in the middle of a section or even backtracking to be sure I didn't miss something. TurboTax handles this with remarkable ease. The prompts are simple, verbiage is concise and not at all vague, and the whole process of tax prep can be handled very quickly.
What's great about it: Once again, TurboTax has shown me how thorough and carefully crafted it is. The interface is very robust.
What's not so great: I really do not see any cons.

I have been a fan/user of TTax since 1985 (when it was Chipsoft) and my expectations have always been met or exceeded! Keep up the good work and right price point.
What's great about it: Ease of use with "Intuitive" feel.
What's not so great: Alittle confusion about the sequence to e-file while attempting to correct a missed item...item was my fault.
