A little dificult this year

I am 79 years old so some of the difficulty may because my age factor. Found Pension area a little difficult with the formulas (simple vs. standard calculation asked for). Explanation section confused me. Still not sure I figured it out.. Entering my IRS assigned IP PIN # became difficult & I do not remember if the Turbo-Tax program prompted me when to enter the number. After I was done I could not find out if I entered the number or any reference to this problem in the Help section. Like I said earlier my age and trying to rush through the process may have been a contributing factor.
What's great about it: Smooth and easy most of the way through, but could not find a way to see the individual pages as in past versions.
What's not so great: A little more difficult this year in certain spots.

Very helpful program. Walks you through everything, no matter how complicated. I have been using it for years, and will continue to do so.
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Need way to enter data from brokers on one page

Takes to long in turbo tax to enter information from brokers. Have to go to Interest, then Dividends, then stock transactions. Should have an entry screen to enter all of this information at one time.
What's great about it: comprehensive
What's not so great: Takes a long time even if you know tax preparation

best thing for me

I remember when this was not called Turbo Tax. I think it was called personal tax or something like that. What I liked about the other was that it would tell me if I would be better off filing separately or filing jointly. I wish Turbo Tax had that option, especially that I am retired and my husband isn't.
What's great about it: easy to use..guides me along the way
What's not so great: I wish there was the ability to find out if filing differently was better.

Andy's Review

I was doing a what-if scenario which included using a tax form that ordinarily don't use. After I went back and deleted the information to do my real return, it still had the form from the what-if scenario and it would not allow me to continue until I filled it out. So, the IRS got an unneeded form with a lot of zeros. The product also calculates your penalty if any. I rather let the IRS calculate and bill me the penalty. Also I HATE the fact that you can't file e-file your state return unless you file your Fed return. TURBOTAX! Whose side are you on???
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: automatically make decisions for you. Hard to go back and change things.

2015 Turbo Tax - No Import of 2014 file
on October 9, 2016

I have been a Turbo Tax user for decades and could always import the previous year's file.
What's not so great: Was not able to import 2014 info. Had to input all the info again.
