Great product, easy to use and worth the cost and

I have been using Turbo Tax since it first came out and it has proven to be well worth the money and effort. I highly recommend for the average guy, family, and small business or independent business people.

Easy Does It

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. It is what I recommend to anyone who asks my opinion. As a former tax preparer I love this program. By answering the questions you are asked, it takes you to the correct form.
What's great about it: Easy to use-takes you to the forms you need
What's not so great: Itemized deductions are time consuming

As painless as taxes can get!

Taxes are a painful part of life, but TurboTax facilitates in a way that is extremely valuable while being very economically reasonable. I highly recommend to any and all, regardless of tax situation.
What's great about it: Extremely detailed, yet presented in a very comprehensible interface

OK, but e-File a disappointment

Waste to pay for e-File. My returns were rejected. Ended up printing and mailing them anyway.

I think that TurboTax has been and continues to be an amazing product that turns a complex process into a task that can be performed by ordinary people. That said, there are always improvement opportunities. The one that stands out for me (because I have to re-find it every year) is the Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction. I think that it would help to have a Q/A section dedicated to this alone to cover all the possibilities in which 1040 line 29 may apply to someone vs. finding the buried question somewhere like your K-1 entry for an S-Corp / did your W-2 include wages for Health Insurance (or whatever that was). Every year I find this to be way to conspicuous and have to go back and solve it. Also, having sold a lot this year, I found it difficult to figure out where to enter the 1099-S data. I got there, but not without the pain of additional research. Another improvement opportunity would be to include an explanation of why the tax rate chosen, when not a standard table, is appropriate. However, all-in-all TurboTax is an outstanding product.
What's great about it: TurboTax accomplishes a great deal in reducing a complex exercise into a manageable task.
What's not so great: TurboTax Versions Functionality Split. Eliminate that "Premier is made for this, do you want to continue with Deluxe".

Helps me beyond belief

When dealing with a wife who has a chronic illness and frequent hospitalizations, it was nice to know I could work on it when I was able to and stop as needed. The info was always there and I didn't need to guess where I needed to pick back up at.

I had more trouble with TurboTax this year (2015) than all previous 10 years of using TurboTax combined. I had to call for help at least 4 times.
