support
on August 15, 2016

It would be nice to be able to chat with someone on line. even the irs has the ability to talk with a real person eventually. I had some questions but when asked in the support box, nothing came back that was helpful.
I only keep coming back to you because all the info from last year get transferred to the new year.
The new version of Its Deductable is no good, had a very difficult time entering and saving the data. finally went back to the old way, much easier and faster. don't do the new version. It is NO GOOD!!!
What's great about it: There are some good support comments
What's not so great: There is no way to contact and talk to a real person.

Scars' review 2016
on August 19, 2016

I like using Turbo-tax for filing my taxes.
I would like an on-line option to be able to update Turbo-tax to the next year's tax law an filing changes.
Also, more info/ability to file extenstion. Such as; does an extenstio request go to both Federal and State?
It's also difficult to find a toll-free number to call when there are problems filing.
What's great about it: Easy to follow. Clear directions.
What's not so great: Difficult to adjust page size, had to scroll a lot.

2015 Turbo Tax
on August 20, 2016

My two biggest complaints is that the Mac Version does not have many of the features of the WIN version and that the process of prompting the user for input is not on the basis of actual IRS forms.
It would have been much more intuitive if the prompts were specific to a specific box on a specific form.
Last but not least, the up selling throughout the application where TurboTax takes it upon itself to "upgrade" your version is nothing short of annoying.
What's great about it: It does the job
What's not so great: The process of prompting the user for input should be cased on actual IRS forms rather than the TTax UI

Improve Supporting Detail
on August 20, 2016
Posted by: Jiji2
I like to include supporting details for many entries within Turbotax so that when I save the return as a PDF, I have an electronic copy of all the information used to produce the return.
Years ago, I used to be able to open a supporting detail page and hit print and was able to separately print out that specific supporting detail by itself. This feature does not work anymore for any individual supporting detail.
In addition, there are instances where the supporting detail will not print out at all. Use of multiple successive print screens is not only awkward, but does not get the result into the PDF version of the return.
Examples:
1. supporting detail for "self employed health insurance", line 15 of Schedule C will not print out either separately or as part of Schedule C supporting detail.
2. supporting details for "utilities", line 25 of Schedule C will not print out either separately or as part of Schedule C supporting detail.
It would be much appreciated if a programmer could be assigned to review the supporting detail features on all schedules to make the printing consistent for all, and to restore the feature of being able to print out individual supporting detail for any line in any schedule.
What's great about it: Well organized and thorough procedure for completing tax return.
What's not so great: Inconsistent ability to print supporting details.
