pain to deal with sometimes

program didn't thoroughly guide me through and almost cost me over $17,000 too much in taxes. Also don't care for the time it takes to do updates, when a year later I just want to look at an old form. Due to the $17,000 oversight, I am using something else next year (for the first time in almost 20 years)
What's great about it: seems easy to use
What's not so great: insists on updating program even if you don't want to.

What's not so great: business expenses with home office depreciation and vehicle use and depreciation are very complicated

I have been using TurboTax for years and find it very easy to use.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow. I love to see the immediate result of my entries.
What's not so great: Not much really

Confusion on 1098-T

I claim my child who receives 1098-T form from school as dependent. When filing, I claim and pay tax on my child's 1098-T but Turbo Tax also asked for my child's 1098-T without cross checking the parent's or without saying that if the parents have claim the your 1098-T then you answer "NO". As a result, instead of receiving a refund of $403, Turbo Tax says my child owe $559. Very mis-informed.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: Easy to make mistakes on 1098-T
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

makes filing easy

I like using Turbo tax and have been doing it for almost 10 years, even when audited the government never changed one thing can't get better than that
What's great about it: helps you when they change the forms
What's not so great: government is still trying to make it more complicated
