Pretty good...not as intuitive as I'd hoped.

It still takes hours to input info, and it's not always intuitive what they're asking. I wanted to compare what was more advantageous: filing married jointly, or married individually....and it seems there is no easy way to know other than laboriously filling-out all the forms for me and my spouse, TWICE. I wish the program would assess variables, and make suggestions. Oh well, it's not like having a personal accountant...
What's great about it: It leads you through it, step by step.
What's not so great: Still can be confusing, regarding whether to file married jointly vs. married individually...not easy to compare.

NON RESIDENT VIRGINIA

YOU NEED A TAB SO YOU CAN SEPERATE EACH INDIVIDUAL ON THE NON RESIDENT RETURNS. TAXPAYER, SPOUSE. OR JUST SPOUSE AND HAVE EACH ITEM ON THE ITEMIZED DEDUCTIONS LISTED AS TO WHEATHER THEY ARE FOR THE TAXPAYER OR SPOUSE. THIS PROGRAM IS A NIGHMARE FOR THIS. FEDERAL IS GOOD, MAY HAVE TO FIND A PROGRAM THAT IS MORE USER FRIENDLY IN THIS AREA. HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX FOR YEARS.
What's not so great: CANNOT SEPERATE EACH SPOUSE ON NON RESIDENT

Over all okay, but some things are difficult like how to enter a small amount of income earned as a Uber driver.
What's not so great: Difficult to figure out how to enter income from Uber.

US Govt Employee working in Europe

My wife is a German citizen so we are allowed to file as a married couple. She is considered a resident alien for tax purposes. Turbo Tax doesn't seem to be able to handle this situation. I require a lot of time to go through after the program has finished to make sure the right amounts are in the correct forms. Second issue, I am not able to file electronically because a German employer does not have an Employer Tax ID Number. I wish this would get fixed.
What's great about it: Turbo tax gets it mostly right
What's not so great: Still have problems with overseas residents working for U.S. Government
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Horrible experience

After all was said and done and getting ready to file a return I should have received much more money back seeing as I made $30000 less and had much more education expenses. I don't trust the results. The worst part is there was a glitch at end and it never filed. Turbo tax was too preoccupied with downloading the "updates" at end to my computer and never filed my return. Now I have to print and file by mail. thanks for nothing...
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: everything
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
