A little more refinements and could be great

As a Partner, I receive tax reporting documents for many different states and on federal level. If Turbo Tax would correct its processes to include the typical reporting documents and style for some state forms, it would really enhance the product for more sophisticated taxpayers from the perspective of complexity. In the end, there was "a way" but the product and bulletin boards were NOT AT ALL helpful and many questions went completely unanswered if the topics were just the slightest bit complex.
What's great about it: Ease of Walkthroughs
What's not so great: Lacks some fundamental capabilities to adjust federal income to NY

2015 tax e-file, married filing separate

not much relavent explaination or indication of what has to be signed and mailed.
What's not so great: wouldn't allow e-file required by state, nickname requirement is rediculous - most already taken

Why the OS change

I like my XP OS. I have no problems with XP and I'm not happy about purchasing a new computer and all the data transfer just so I can do my taxes! I feel taxes online will open a can of hacking worms. Yep, I'm old school and turn the system off when not in use.

Needs work! lots of mistakes in printing

1. When one selects a particular form to print, it does not print the selected form. It prints some other form. This happened with several forms. 2. Transferred incorrect information for amount paid with extension to final return from Missouri to Kansas. 3. "Print front screen", does not print the form on the screen, it prints something different. 4. Nice if one could view online the actual income tax instruction booklets one used to obtain from libraries & post offices to refer to those instructions for working on one's return.
What's great about it: I don't have to write by hand & info from previous years transfers
What's not so great: Next yrs won't work on current Mac OS. Instructs not always clear

Handled my personal issues

I had a couple of new situations this year not normally in my return, but TT had the forms and interactive questions to walk me through two of the tougher situations, an inherited IRA that had to be cashed out and stock income. Both were easily handled with only one look at help for a term I wasn't sure of. I also had the state downloaded so transfer and generation of that was almost seamless.
What's great about it: Forms included for special circumstances

2015 TurboTax Review

Frustrated with Turbo Tax 2015 when loaded onto computer with Window 10. The program would not update. Therefore not all forms were available. This caused considerable frustration not knowing what was wrong and why the program would not update. Eventually downloaded program onto computer with Window 7 and the program work smoothly thereafter. Because of this difficultly with Window 10, the tax return was submitted one week late.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Did not work with Windows 10
