I filed two sets of returns on the filing deadline 4/18/16. First set of federal and state transmitted without problems. My personal returns which I owed ~$3k on federal return with refund on state took me through the entire menu, I input CC information and hit transmit. Screen indicated file transmitted successfully. Last few days I was monitoring my bank account to make sure the $3k was deducted. Never happened so I checked my email and no notification of filing was received. I checked the return this morning and the status said never printed never filed. I have the 40 page return printed and sitting on my desk. My drivers license information was entered as was my bank account information which transferred over from last years return. Not sure what happened but now my return is late and IRS will assess penalty. Have used TT for years and very happy with product but disappointed with what happened this year with my return. I bought Deluxe and had 5 returns I could file of which I used 4. Don't know if an update came through which caused the returns not to be filed. Should have checked my email for confirmation, a mistake I'll never make again, but screen said returns were filed so I took it face value. When I went back in and filed the return this morning, I was prompted by a message suggesting to sign up for an alternative application when filing more than 5 returns. As I said I filed 4 returns, the one this morning 4/22/16 was the fourth. The message prompt leads me to believe the unsuccessful transmission Monday of my returns is being calculated by TT as a successful transmission but it never was sent. Very disappointing considering I had the return done for a while but since I owed money I opted to pay at the extended filing deadline and now for the first time in my life I'm filing late and will be charged penalties.!!!!!!!
What's great about it: Good program have used it for years
What's not so great: Return marked e-filed on 4/18 was never filed!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

late filers

had an issue with a rejected return because I was outside the window for e-filing. Filed by paper but then couldn't get a PIN because of IRS ri=ules which are not contained inTTax. Finally deduced from IRS website and tried again. Got my fingers crossed!!
What's not so great: LACK OF GUIDELINES FOR LATE FILERS FOR PREVIOUS YEAR

Overall very well-designed, informative, easy-to-use software.
Clear display of choices and description of choice meanings.
Help is very good and easy to find.
Make sure to create a turbotax online account to speed up getting help.
Make sure to navigate by yourself through the choices and don't choose the Walk you Through choices. There is plenty of help available when you search and makeH choices by yourself.
I highly recommend TurboTax to all users.
Clear display of choices and description of choice meanings.
