Good, depenable tax prep software

I've been using TurboTax since 1989 and it wasn't much more than a spreadsheet. Every year the interface gets better, and for the past 15 years it has been as easy to use as it could be. Nothing can change that the Tax Code is complex, so TurboTax has to ask a lot of questions, but the program makes those questions as clear as possible. You also will have to know what you're doing, you can't assume that TurboTax knows all the answers, but TurboTax does a good job at presenting the reference materials. When in doubt, start reading the IRS reference material. Or go hire a tax professional.
What's great about it: Easy to use, as straight-forward as is possible, given the tax code
What's not so great: Slightly intolerant of unplanned errors

Easy Squeezy

I have been using Turbotax for several years now and it just seems to get easier each year. I have no worries about doing them myself with Turbotax on my side.
What's great about it: It is so easy a monkey wouldn't even have to be trained first.
What's not so great: None

Easy as Pie!

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now. I like how easy it makes it to file my own taxes and it takes no time at all. No more dread and headaches!
What's great about it: Quick & Easy
What's not so great: None that I can think of.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Much easier than waiting on the IRS.

The step-by-step screens that take you through the process are great. However, I believe someone with no education about filing income tax returns may get confused as to how to answer some of the questions in order to proceed to the next screen.

Pretty Easy

When I use Turbo Tax, I feel secure knowing that my taxes are done correctly. I don't have to remember everything because you remind me with step-by-step instructions. I've been using Turbo Tax for at least 5 years and will plan to use it again next year!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax thinks of all the right questions to ask
What's not so great: It's sometimes very tedious
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
