I would expect a program of Turbotax's reputation to be capable of remembering the tax status of my retirement accounts year to year....but no.
What's great about it: its all automated

PERSONAL INFO SECTION COULD SET UP THE OTHER AREAS BEFORE YOU GET TO THEM. ARE YOU A GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE WITH A PENSION, IRA INFO, INVESTMENT SET UP FOR TRANSFERRING INFO FROM YOUR INVESTMENT ACCT, SOCIAL SECURITY AND PENSION QUESTIONS. ARE YOU A STUDENT OR WHO IS FOR EDUCATIONAL DEDUCTION INFO, ETC. BY THE TIME YOU REACH ANY SECTION IT COULD BE ON POINT FOR YOUR INFO AND OR SITUATION. THIS WILL PREVENT LOOK BACKS FOR ERRORS OR INFO INPUT THAT IS HARDER TO FIND IN A SECTION. OVERALL I HAVE USED THIS PROGRAM FOR AT LEAST 7 YEARS OR MORE AND I AM HAPPY WITH THE CONTINUING EVOLUTION AND EASE OF THE PROGRAM. I DO RECOMMEND IT TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO NEED A MORE DETAILED AND EXPANSIVE TAX PROGRAM WHICH THEY CAN DO ON THEIR OWN. WHILE HAVING THE THE ABILITY TO TRANSFER TO IRS ELECTRONICALLY ( RAPID REFUND WITHOUT THE COST) OR MAIL. GREAT FOR THE I DON'T NEED THE STRESS, I'VE BEEN BUSY, I NEED A PAYMENT PLAN, UP TO THE MINUTE, LAST MINUTE USERS.
What's great about it: EASE OF EXPLANATIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
What's not so great: COULD SET UP SOME AREAS BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY START BASED ON REPEATED USAGE BY THE USER. EVERY YEAR.

Turbo Tax keeps improving with every filing year

I will continue to use Turbo Tax to file my tax returns.
What's great about it: Easy to understand step-by-step instructions
What's not so great: Some of the Learn More explanations are repetitive when going online for more help

Most of the aspects of TurboTax are great. Downfall for me was that I e-filed on the last day and once I submitted my returns it took over four hours for them to send a text telling me they were rejected. By then I was asleep and didn't see it until morning. I was able to resend them in the morning, but I guess I'll wait and see if there is a penalty for late filing, even though I'm getting a refund.
What's great about it: fairly easy to use, even for a novice
What's not so great: e-filing acceptance/reject took over 4 hours to receive

Noted by many customers, apparently there is an issue with Turbotax. Never had problem in past so this is unsettling to be sure. Turbotax does not seem interested in fixing issue as it continutes to this day

Fortunately I read the Q&A forum experiences and just waited a few hours for the filing to be rejected so that I could enter the IP Pin (so many are now using due to widespread issues on previous years filing).
Going through the FED Tax, other situations path helped me enter the IP pin provided for myself only.
It should not go through to the e filing without asking users if they were provided such a PIN. A large chunk of people now gets those pins due to past issues,

Solid software package that delivers

Again, TurboTax out performs the competition. Maybe I missed it, but I did not find the capability to import previous year's tax return information created in TurboTax. This would have cut down on having to hand-jam much of the initial data required and saved me a boatload of type.
What's great about it: Walks you thru everything
What's not so great: Did not find the feature to import data from previous year's return
