home owned to rent is a confusing section

Fix that one part. I owned a home that I used as rental property. It's confusing, EVERY YEAR, where what info goes where...can't this be streamlined a bit or make tweak the info entered behind the scenes so that it only has to be thought about and entered one time for the person filling? The caveat explanation in these sections does little to ease my mind.

Never Did a tax return before

It was easy but it took quite a while being new .
What's great about it: Turbo Tax was thorough! When compared to past years' returns prepared by a professional the same information was submit
What's not so great: I reviewed each page and there were blanks that I had to check if I need to fill out , would have liked to have been cue

There should be an easy way to NOT depreciate a car used only 10% for business, especially when several illnesses including two hospitalizations.
You way of doing the Schedule C is confusing. Still not sure my 1099-Misc included.
Why do I have to re-enter Pros and Cons when already wrote that the first time?

TurboTax Deluxe

Great product. Very INTUIT-ive interface and logical processes. I did my business filings with the TurboTax Business edition and my personal filing with TurboTax Deluxe edition. Both interfaces were great and communication between the tax software and my accounting system QuickBooks was a snap.
What's great about it: Consistency and thoroughness.
What's not so great: I little clumsy handling multiple K-1s for same business entity.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: checks and rechecks
What's not so great: took much longer than anticipated

Not what I expected

If you elect to mail in your federal tax due on your own, turbotax automatically sets you up with voucher(s). I elected this option and they printed six vouchers with a set amount of payment. I didn't get to elect what I wanted to mail in. What if I am mailing the full amount owed?? Now I am stuck with a voucher with an incorrect amount. And is this reported to the IRS?? It doesn't make sense for turbotax to predetermine an amount that you may or may not be able to send.
What's great about it: download on your computer, fast and easy
What's not so great: If you elect to mail your federal tax due turbotax automatically sets you up with a voucher(s) several.

Straightforward

Been using TurboTax for quite a few years and the structure makes it easy to get organized and ready for completing. Would like to see some sort of checklist at the beginning that could be printed off to use to make it even easier to get all the data in order!
What's great about it: No fluff, just got to the point
What's not so great: Couldn't take away the pain of having to pay!

Didn't like how extension worked - otherwise great

Great overall, even with living in two States last year! I didn't think I would get the filing done today, so chose the extension for State taxes. I wanted to pay the full amount, but couldn't find out (even looking at questions on-line) how to pay the whole amount to the state or how to get rid of the extension.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Couldn't find how to change mind after I printed extension
Pros: I moved
