Tax 2015
on February 2, 2016
Posted by: MiketheLegend
Everything in this 2015 program works very well. The problem for me was that the 2014 file was not in this new computer and everything needed to be entered again. I was not able to get it from the online account thru this program.
What's great about it: Perfect for the non-accountant
What's not so great: Not easy to retrieve last years return for the online account.

Great software
on February 2, 2016

As stated in pros and cons the software is super easy to use accurate and dare I say even fun to do taxes. It take a good 4 or 5 minutes to start on my machine that wait in my opinion is to long. but worth the wait in the long run.
What's great about it: Easy to use, priced right, multiple filings
What's not so great: Slow starting even with fast computers. No XP in 2016
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

So Quick, Easy and Complete

I have been using TT for years and it gets better every time. Although, I think it has gotten a bit over-priced, I feel secure in running through the numbers, comparing this year to last, and submitting the Federal and State forms.
And the refunds are so quick to hit the bank account.
What's great about it: It's so easy to walk through the process. Only a couple hours from loading disk to filing, if you have your paperwork.
What's not so great: Nothing really, but it has gotten a bit costly.

What's great about it: If I cannot figure something out, you ask the specific questions that keep me on track.
What's not so great: I have used the product for years. No cons.

Hoped for refund came through

Recently retired and had to use a lot of 401 $$ for needed home repairs and maintenance. We were afraid of the increased tax liabilities, but we actually received a refund after deductions and credits were applied. Excellent.
What's great about it: Simple, straightforward
What's not so great: None that I experienced

Incomplete/Ambiguous Prompts
on February 2, 2016
Posted by: WWKI
Several to note, but three examples will suffice:
The prompt directs the user to identify the STATE lived in when receipt of the 1099R occurred. The very next sentence then directs the user to identify the STATE(S) in which the distribution occurred.
Terrible! Which direction should the user act upon?
Another prompt asks for remittance data to support e-filing. The user must guess that this prompt reflects either FED or STATE. I guessed wrong. I entered FED. The next prompt then issued the error and identified my STATE as the point of reference. TTax should have identified the remittance as applicable to STATE at the onset.
During e-filing process, the user is prompted with the option to print the tax return before e-filing. An error in code occurs and the print function fails. I had to e-file first before having the ability to print without an abort.
What's great about it: Entire TurboTax Package Continues to Set the Pace in Tax Filing
What's not so great: Failure by Developers/Testing/QA to Check Prompts
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I moved
