Refunds Made Simple

Overall, it's fairly easy to use Turbo Tax, and it saves quite a bit of money vs. a CPA. If you have questions the answers are usually found within the search or topic screen. Once in a while you do have to reach a little further outside the Turbo Tax spectrum, in other words, your answers are not all going to be answered easily. The US tax code is very complicated, but unless you have many business ventures....even you can use Turbo Tax successfully.
What's great about it: Forms are very easy to fill out
What's not so great: When using It's Deductible there are many household goods they don't show

Turbotax tech gave me a fix that didn't work.
Transferred all my work to a laptop and all worked fine.
What's not so great: Had error updating or downloading state

Clearer & More Orderly than Form 1040 Instructions

If TurboTax says I've done things correctly, I feel far more confident about submitting the forms than when I used to do it all myself on paper.
This year I switched from the online TurboTax Deluxe to the CD form. I was disappointed that none of the names of the previous year's income sources or charitable contribution recipients appeared ready for this year's possible entries. Was that my ignorance as to how to import last year's return info? That I do not know.
All that said, there is no doubt that I will use TurboTax Deluxe CD again next year.

What's great about it: Keeps the focus narrow so you aren't overwhelmed. Make a change and it updates all the math.
What's not so great: There still are times when the wording doesn't appear to cover my situation.

Last years 2014 & 2016 both had me pay extra for my state when they were supposed to be free...
