you made it easy for me

This is the first time in 24 years that I did my own taxes and I was very apprehensive. Turbo Tax erased that unease and I will be doing my taxes without an expensive Tax Guy from now on!!!!!
What's great about it: step by step instructions for a laymen

Easy, Fast Returns

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and find it intuitive - very easy to use. I have four sources of income with three different types as well as deductions of different sorts. Data from last year (done with TurboTax) is automatically plugged in for comparison. Questions are asked and areas are suggested for potential deductions. I have filed taxes for enough years to know that in late January, I can expect to receive various document with tax information, e.g., W-2s, 1099s, statements from certain charities, etc. and put them together. Also, I keep track of deductible expenses as best I can and compare with credit card year-end annual expenses by category and pull up items from computer-filed bank statements. I can also get an annual statement from my pharmacy. Property taxes are available on line.
Total time to complete entries: about 3½ hours. I saw my tax liabilities and determined the amount I would contribute to my IRA by plugging in different amounts to see the effect. I ultimately contributed the maximum.
After making the contribution, I ran everything through TurboTax review, saved, printed and filed Federal & State. DONE!

What's great about it: Captures deductions that I did not have in past years. Shows info from last year for comparison.

It's good, but not as good as before

Not as good as before. When I filled state return, it asked me to input numbers in federal 1040, but I can't find an easy way going back to dig this number. Also, sometime the software couldn't retrieve information I had last year. This feature sometimes worked sometime didn't. I have used this software for years, but this is the first time I have such problems.
What's great about it: with detailed help and introduction
What's not so great: Not easy to find data you have jut input.

Ubelievable!

Installation was buggy. Had to find online help to debug installer. Software incredibly slow. As I write this, I've been trying for over an hour to efile. Sorry excuse for software and website just time out. NEVER, EVER AGAIN!

I love Turbo Tax, it is easy to use and there is help for all my questions and explanations of specific items that was helpful
What's great about it: Very easy to use and helped me get all my deductions
What's not so great: when going back in and reviewing some of the items I selected were not selected
