Awful for Seniors

Found an error in Turbo's way of dealing with Social Security. It would not let me efile with my corrections. Had to file the wrong way and pay more taxes. Since this is the 11th hour I will have to send an amended return at a later date (done by hand). How AWFUL!!
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Will not let you e file a return unless it is done Turbos way.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

i like the program, but since I am somewhat familiar with taxes I found the walk through a bit slow.
Also, I would prefer to be able to see the actual tax return once a section is completed. For example, when all income has been entered I would like to see the income section of the actual 1040. This may help me remember other income items.
What's great about it: Easy to understand, walk through very thorough
What's not so great: Never shows the actual tax return form, Would like to have more "tips" or explanations of tax return sections.

I only know what my forms say, so when you ask specific questions I do not know the answer, i.e. which Morgan Stanley, it is no where on my form 1099. Had a great difficulty understanding the foreign investment part, based on Morgan Stanley investments. Can't find things. I want a help that will take me to a specific place, i.e. car registration tax for Colorado, etc.
What's great about it: Auto populate
What's not so great: The harder my tax return gets, the smaller the advantage to using Turbo Tax is.

Thank you for making doing taxes easy. It has become easier to understand how to report Roth IRAs but still needs improvement - "value" question ambiguous. Also, more info about if necessary to file estimated tax payment if irregular income.

What's not so great: Clearer on Roth IRAs and estimated tax payments

Returning every year!

EZ-1040 is not for me but my taxes are not complex enough to go to a tax preparer. I have done my taxes manually for years but when I finally tried TurboTax, I was done with the manual stuff. With TurboTax I get my taxes done in a few hours, e-file at the last minute, and then wait for confirmation from IRS and state. And yes, eventually I will also get my return direct deposited to my account. Cannot get any more convenient!
What's great about it: Walks you thru all of it
What's not so great: Help text is very tiny

Still the best personal tax software

The TurboTax software still is the best choice for efficiently completing the tax forms and filing in a relatively easy way.
I appreciate the increased identity security items to assure that I am the person completing my taxes and not someone attempting to use partial information to attempt to fraud the federal government and myself.

What's great about it: Methodical logical approach to completing the tax forms.
What's not so great: Updates still occurring well into 2016
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Gave me a headache

YOUR FORMAT LIMITS ME FROM WRITING A CLEAR REVIEW
What's great about it: Transfered my informationfrom last year's return
What's not so great: When I entered my tax exempt information my AGI jumped about $700 and I couldnot find the reason for that jump.
