It would have been helpful to include the e-filing fees on my tax return. Could fees/payment options be made available before progressing into filing/payment stage of the process

I was expecting a tax bill in the tens of thousands like previous years. TurboTax simple walk through saved me thousands. I did find some of the sections needing more information especially areas like capital gains

Couldn't file state online due to military 1099
on April 18, 2016

We got trashed over this year and I'm angry! Turbotax waited until the very very end - when trying to efile - to tell me that I couldn't efile due to my husband's military retirement 1099. Couldn't tell me when I entered the 1099-R. Nope - didn't know until trying to efile at 7pm on April 18th. So had to print off the return, include a check, and go stand in line for an hour so it would be postmarked tonight.
Should have notified me as I was going thru the return that it couldn't be efiled. Not happy. Been a longtime customer - that will most probably change now.

got a FEDERAL refund
on April 18, 2016

This is REDICULOUS! I payed for the program then had to pay to use the state then pay again to send the state really? I am almost ready to go to have them done. Might even be cheaper. Never had to pay before to get and use the state. I should have had the option to use the state and print it out and send it for free.
What's great about it: easy very easy to use
What's not so great: pay for the state then pay for sending it really?

I've considered using a Tax Accountant/Preparer, but TurboTax allows me to do it myself pretty easily; it's great how TurboTax can receive information/statement like 1099 straight from my bank, without my having to enter the data manually. I can get my taxes done in a day with TurboTax, thank you.
What's great about it: Provides Step by Step Guide, asks questions that are easy to understand and answer, provides tips where applicable
Pros: I bought or sold investments

You made Print Filing of taxes difficult
on April 18, 2016

Trying to file the forms by printing, COMPLETELY ended the ease of use. If you don't file electronically, you are not given ANY direction on how to print and submit the forms.
After reviewing my taxes, I realized that health insurance from my employer was too expensive for my family and changed the information in the program and it said that part of the penalty would be waived because part of my family was too expensive based on our income. However the amount was not changed in the amount of taxed I owe.
I believe this is an error in the programming.
What's great about it: Mostly easy to follow
What's not so great: Changing information didn't change amount of penalties
