I like being able to choose how I complete the forms without having to go through all of the sections that do not apply to us!
What's great about it: so easy to move between sections.

Great product I've used for the last 13 years. Easy to use when itemizing your deductions. Updates when necessary to ensure latest tax law.
What's great about it: For those who wait til the last moments of tax day to consider doing your taxes (assuming you have documentation at hand
What's not so great: Need some graphic attention-getters for critical information. Everything seems to blend on screen.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

As a veteran user, I was comfortable using the software like several times before. This year though, I apparently didn't finish the process when I was printing the return and wrapping things up. I just happened to check my bank statement today, looking for my rebate and couldn't find anything. So then I checked my return and it was at a status short of actually filing. Not a pleasant surprise. I realize that I am ultimately responsible for completing the process and I was probably too comfortable with the whole thing, but I would appreciate a stronger prompt to work through to completion next year.
What's not so great: Didn't file when I thought it had

Best tax program

I had a complicated tax situation this year. Turbo tax walked me through every step and made a tough project easy. This is the 7th year that I have used it & will continue!
What's great about it: It walks you through every step. I have a complicated form and It flows right along.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have used TTax for several years now, and still opt for the Q & A method, because I am not a pro. I find some confusion in the Fed. but mostly in the NY state Q & A.
The 'does not apply' option seems to be missing in several areas, leading to self doubt and confusion.
I also find that 'start' may be the safe play to avoid missing a pertinent section.

Yeaaahhhh for Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax is easier to use every year. Draws information from the preceding years returns and asks for edits/changes as necessary. If there is something you had last year, e.g. Dividends, Interest, etc. and it is not edited/entered for the current year, then you are asked. Answering is very easy - yes or no with additional detail questions asked as necessary. Links are provided to additional information right at the topic area. No hunting for information or having to flip screens. Just a super tax preparation system.
What's great about it: Super easy to use, makes sure you cover all the bases and imports and uses last years information
