As good as the 'professionals'.

As good as the 'professionals', and cheaper. Plus you can do it at your convenience and not spend hours sitting in some preparer's office.
After all, the hardest part of filing taxes is compiling the documents and info that you need, and you have to do that even if someone else prepares them for you.
What's great about it: Walks you step by step through each topic & help is available when you have questions.

Turbotax Declines with each year. SLOPPY

Turbotax Can't allocate Rental Income on Multi-State Return w/ State Indicated in address. Turbotax Included ALL Rental income on Non-resident state allocation schedule, even though address of rentals clearly indicates rental income belongs to resident state. Only K-1 rental income rightfully belongs on the non-resident return. Had to override turbo tax amount to correct the issue. :o( Basic taxes 101.
What's great about it: Generally, does a decent job

Toughest tax return ever!

Lack of explanations throughout. Darn near have to be a tax accountant to use this software! It has never been so hard for me before, and I am a fairly intelligent person!
What's great about it: Being able to have it on the computer/.
What's not so great: Cost is too high. Not enough of the info is easily explained to the average person.

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years now, and it never disappoints. I always feel like I'm doing a good job with my tax return because Turbo Tax ensures my success. It's so user friendly. I would recommend it to beginners and seasoned tax professionals.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and always accurate
What's not so great: Help sections need more detail
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I moved

Unfortunattely, a bad experience this year.

Due to Microsoft 10 updates, I kept getting error messages and crashes. I was half way through, when I had to uninstall & reinstall the first time. The second time happened just as I was trying to e-file, which caused me a very stressful "Tax Day." I've used TurboTax for years with very easy returns until this year.
What's great about it: Doing the taxes was easy, when I was able to get thru them.
What's not so great: Had to uninstall and reinstall twice.
