good software

Excellent. Editing sections could be a little easier, should be able to zoom straight to the editing instead of going thru the other preparatory pages.
What's great about it: easy to navigate
What's not so great: editing corrections takes you thru the entire section

Program would not allow me to sign up for Audit Defense. I selected it and it just sat there. I tried several times. I deleted the request for audit defense and it processed the return. It may be a hangup with the payment information (listed credit card was expired). I switched over to another card and the returns were e-filed. Too late for Audit Defense this year.
What's great about it: Much better than last year's program
What's not so great: Could not sign up for Audit Defense

Next year I will use tax professional, Turbo Tax is very easy to use however too many additional fees such as extra fee to e-file state tax, fee to have refund deposited in bank account and so on.

Additional State Fee

2.49% to pay with credit card. paid for the software that has the state and I am still being charged if I file electronically, really. NOt liking all the fees.
What's great about it: Filing was easy
What's not so great: Why am I being charged another fee to file my state tax, double fees, plus a 2.49% to use my credit card.

Tax Procrastinators Unite!

I have been using turbotax for several years now and one of the best features is starting my new return and the program finds my prior year return and transfers all the relevant information into the new one. The program also generates a five year "tax history" sheet that shows main category items (income, expense, deductions, payments, etc) so you can easily compare year to year. I also really like all the brief explanations of each tax category or why the IRS is asking for certain information. And if you need more info than that, there's usually a link to more detail or you can access the turbotax community to get more help. I couldn't recommend the program more highly. Doing taxes is not on anyone's top 10 list, but turbotax really makes it as painless as possible.
What's great about it: So easy to use and a great tax info resource

Excellent Software, Easy to use

This is a GREAT piece of software. Last year I filed with Tax Cut by H&R Block and this is a much easier to use piece of software. Should not have ever left the Turbo Tax filers....thanks again for the ease of use and simple menus.
