Turbo tax makes it almost impossible to screw thing up. they show you step by step how do enter and what to enter
If you do it wrong, they let you know right away, so you can correct it. It is great to just fill in the blanks.

Totally pleased

I have been using Turbo Tax to help me prepare my tax return for at least 20 years. It has been especially helpful in preparing our Schedule C for public speaking and writing. I would not even think of trying to prepare my tax return without Turbo Tax software.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions. Helped me to be sure that I had included all the necessary forms.
What's not so great: Hard to know where there some of the information asked for would be displayed in the final forms.

Better than my Totals

I was unable to import any of the data from my 2014 tax return into this years Turbo Tax. The 4 or 5 digit identifying number of my 2014 Turbo Tax stored on my computer did not match up with what the 2015 version required. I had to spend half a day reentering all the data on 7 1099-R s, 2 SS reports and a whole long list of charities. I will be very unhappy if this happens again next year.
What's great about it: It figures all of the fine points from the "work sheets".
What's not so great: I don't need the invoices to pay estimated taxes. Both state and federal mail them via USPS.

Worked well, no real problems. It seems navigation back an forth has gotten better.

Super Easy and Super Fast!!

Did HR Block last year, but back to Turbo Tax Delux now all forms are back. Turbo Tax is much more detailed with the walk-through instructions, helping you to identify deductions you forgot or didn't think about, and helps detail accurate sum of all donated items for the year. When I finish taxes with Turbo Tax, I feel fully confident that they have been filed accurately and correctly.
I also love that Turbo Tax gives you the possibility of your return being audited given the information completed on your tax form.

Problems with IDs

1. Prior to e-filing, I am asked about providing drivers license numbers as backup ID. Is this a requirement? I chose not to provide, but cannot tell if this is giving me a problem with e-filing my fed return. This ties in with problem #2, below.
2. Where do I provide my 6-digit pin from IRS (CP01A). My return was rejected for not providing this, but cannot determine where to include it. Drivers license issue (see previous comment) really makes this issue confusing.
What's not so great: Working with ID documents confusing and not well connected nor explained.

I have been using TurboTax for several years with one year exception where I used another well known program. Been perfect all these years however this year has been frustrating. The program hung up within every few minutes and had to ctrl, alt, del to get restarted with program. It saved the info or reconstructed it most of time but few times had to reenter. Finally got through the program and hopefully mailed my return. In all honestly, don't know if it was the program or my computer but my computer has been working fine up til now.
What's great about it: fairly fast if it would quit stalling
What's not so great: stalled after every few minutes, had to restart every time
