Many Years of TurboTax

I have been using Turbo Tax since 1984, so I have a lot of experience with TT. However, this year it nearly drove me to drink.
It seems to lack integration of the various functions at the level of previous years. While I'm not ready to give it up and switch provider, I did get more frustrated than in recent years. Integration with "It's Deductible" is poor. Comparisons with prior year's data is only at the macro level. I wanted to see what went into some of the items in the income and deductions. Yes, I did save the previous year's return, and I could have opened it up and dug through the guts to get the data. But since I was working with the current year's return why could TT not give me the ability to open up the components of the prior year's return for comparison at a detailed level? It already gives me the summary levels. That indicates to me that TT went somewhere to pull in last years number. Why not import the details as well?
What's great about it: Familiarity of basic functions
What's not so great: Not as well integrated as it should be.

takes the stress out

There were a couple spots that seemed buggy to me. The thing skipped past Schedule A before it was completed and suggested I take the standardized deduction. I had to manually override that to put in my receipts. Saved me $500. And it says I do not qualify for a property tax refund in MN. Thats the first time in 18 years; gonna double check that against the online return the state has and see if it is accurate. But we did also pay off our house this year so maybe that killed that $800 benefit.
What's great about it: interview process lowers intimidation

Disappointed Overall

I did everything I could to save my return with my name, but Turbo Tax wouldn't assign my name to my tax file. I did it myself on the PDF when saving, but I am very frustrated, because I use Turbo Tax every year and it will be difficult to import this file next year.
What's great about it: Did my return very well
What's not so great: Wouldn't save tax return with my name

The First Time

Things went better than I thought. This was my first time doing taxes by computer. this made the experience easy.
What's great about it: Once I got help in getting started, things went pretty well. It was worth it. It flowed well.
What's not so great: This was my first time filing as a retiree, so I had to go over the retirement part several times with the IRA info
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I hated the fact that it is difficult to simply save your taxes then return to were you were. It is not user friendly.

What's great about it: Many changes this year. Turbo Tax was helpful in guiding me through the process
What's not so great: TT does not guide you to enter IP pin if you have one. Inputted on my own per other comments in forum.
