We tried several ways to e file with pin numbers used for several years even with gross amount from last years filing to no avail. Even called IRS and went on line, we received conflicting info. So we mailed the forms.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Was unable to efile due to pin number issues

Use TurboTax, Avoid orange jumpsuits

This is first time I've used TurboTax.
My sons used it last year to complete complicated multi-state returns and raved about the program's ease of use and thoroughness.

Based on their experience, I tried the Deluxe version and found it's one of the few things we agree on.
What's great about it: Fearless filing
What's not so great: My CPA no longer takes my calls

I've been using TurboTax for years and wouldn't do my taxes with any other product! Love it!
What's great about it: Easy to use!
What's not so great: Sometimes tries to be too helpful and gets in the way!

First Year that I've Been Disappointed

after years of using TurboTax this might be the last time I use it. It seemed to be sluggish, buggy and drove me crazy.
What's great about it: Still the same product. Relatively easy to use.
What's not so great: Crashed numerous times. Printing out return was a nightmare.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Had to buy audit protection

Give the consumer the ability to say no to the audit protection charge. I went back several times to see if I had made a mistake, but every time I got to the point of paying there was no way to say no to the Audit Protection. It only gave me 2 options, Charge my card or Take it from my return.
You should have the option of No thanks and be able to continue the E-filing.
What's great about it: easy to follow step by step
What's not so great: Couldn't file my returns until I agreed to buy "Audit Protection".

Turbo Tax Fell a Little Short for 2015 Tax Year

Because Turbo Tax missed the OR-PTE form entry as an automatic calculation I had to manually enter the information which disables the e-file functionality. I hope that gets fixed for the 2016 filing year.
What's great about it: Overall Turbo Tax is excellent with one exception

I like Turbo Tax we have used other software but always seem to come back to you. Thanks whoever is creating the software
What's great about it: transfers from prior year, q&a from users, downloads
What's not so great: forms are difficult to understand, the accounts say you qualify but turbo tax says you don't
