2015 Tax Prep

I watched everything we did. Paid attention and asked questions as to why I couldn't use some deductions as in the past. Accepted the reasonable answer.

I love TurboTax

What's great about it: Easy to use and follow instructions
What's not so great: You still need to know a little about taxes if you have many deductions.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: takes the pain away from having to navigate forms manually. seem to have the info needed to file even complex filings
What's not so great: cost of filing state tax not declared up-front.

How to build Confidence

Considering Guiding the user through the soft ware - the setup was easy to skip sections, if I had assumed the correct modules Maybe that is why it did not make me do certain modules. Maybe if I completed the tax data in the first sitting I might think differently. I only did federal on this software package so finding and gathering worksheets was as best poor.
H&R Block at least explains when it skips a portion so that one can determine if I did or did not consider various deductions.
Final Complaint filling out all the payment information and the last step before sending you ask do you want to see your forms and work sheets? Move that back to the checking module or at least make it aware as to how one can check their data (Forms and worksheets) . Reason if I transposed a number in federal, carried those mistakes to state (Check inbetween fed and state and the check before filing there would be less issues. Check your work and we the user needs to check ours.
Also if you could make it easy to print the data on the transmittal receipt screen. I will hope it is in my email but that was not to clear.
Not sure I really like the comfort of accuracy presented or should I say ASSUMED.
Thanks. I was definatley surprised by the simplicity of the software and now am pouring over the form and worksheet thinking....I hope I do not have to amend.
What's great about it: Easy install and actualy if you were patient would lead you to acquire proper efile ids
What's not so great: Little guidence too much relying on help screens

Tax season no longer intimidating

TurboTax has really reduced the stress and dread of tax season. It is so intuitive, prompting you in all the right areas. It is like having a tax professional sitting right beside you guiding you along step-by-step. It has saved us HUNDREDS on hiring a tax professional, and has probably found deductions others have not. I love the encouraging comments it gives as you proceed!

REVIEW OF TURBOTAX Deluxe for CY2015

all movement was by the tab key, arrow keys were locked out. This was very difficult to adapt to, after using a friendly version in previous years. It was written by a programmer for use by a programmer, not the General public. This should not occur for the General Public.
What's great about it: It was Turbotax, which I've used for over 10 Years
What's not so great: Did not like the 1015 turbotax at all
