great software but both should be free to file. The software charge in itself is enough

I've used Turbo Tax for several years. It simplifies the entire process and makes tax season tolerable ... even if you end up paying. I'd recommended it to everybody.

2016 BKN Federal Tax return

TurboTax is easy to enter the basic tax documents for the 2016 Federal Tax return
But it is a very big PAIN to not have a feature to have detail replicated from many 1099-G Entries for Repeditive Entry to same Casino - Does not allow to duplicate Same Casino Info - not automated
It took me 5 hours to do all the 1099-G Entry and 2 hours total for the rest of the Federal Tax Entry!
What's great about it: Easy to enter the basic Federal Tax return information
What's not so great: 1099-G Entry is BAD for Repeditive Entry to same Casino - Does not allow to duplicate Same Casino Info - not automated

Easy Process

No need to pay someone, the process is very easy. Have your paperwork available. If you don't understand a question, they have the help text right there for you.
What's great about it: Easy, questions asked to help you understand, help text
What's not so great: there were a few times when it was 'thinking' or 'calculating' where I didn't know if I was to enter more info.

Don't like some of the changes

i like the new look of the program. however, i do not like the fact you cannot pull up forms other than the ones the program says you need. also i would like to see a section explaining changes to the tax code from the previous year. if it is there, i missed it.

I feel confident after filing that my information is complete and accurate with a low possibility of audit. Have used it in the past and always happy with it so far.
What's great about it: Ease and instructions as needed with reviews as needed
What's not so great: Can't think of any

Great job and easy to do. my husband usualy did the taxes but he is deceased and this was fast and easy. I dreaed doing this because he is not here. But thanks for making it easy for me
