the absolute worst program I have ever used. Hidden costs, unnecessary information requested. Will use an accountant next year.

Very confusing and cumbersome to work with.
Could not go back and look at previous entries.
Had to restart tax return several times and write down entries.
No point in using this software if I need to write everything down.

Easy and Safe

Turbo Tax is a very detailed program and easy to use. Just follow the system and it is easy to put in the information. I have used Turbo Tax for years and I recommend it to anyone to file their taxes.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy to use to e-file

I have used Turbo tax for years. it was very difficult this year to use. Was not that user friendly had a hard time going back to review things.

Feeling relaxed and confident!

TurboTax is a real time-saver! The program electronically accessed some of my forms like 1099-DIVs so I didn't have to enter all of the data. The program also completed for me those pesky worksheets with all the required calculations that I would have had to check and double-check for accuracy. The language choices on TurboTax's directions are straight-forward and easy to understand. I clicked on a number of links to explanations and found the explanations also clear and helpful.
What's great about it: TurboTax is a real time-saver and easy to use!
What's not so great: I had to re-enter some data when I went "back" to check something.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

filing my 2015 went pretty smooth until the very end when my cursor locked up. Overall 4 of 5 stars

3 Years Same Bug with 1099R's

Still the best option out there for retirees despite the fact that, once again, I couldn't file electronically because of a bug that's been around since at least 2013 and reported every year: If the line 2a on from 1099R (Taxable Amount) exceeds line 1 (Gross Distribution), as it apparently can in some cases (employer-subsidized life insurance?), TurboTax can't handle it. (A moot point this year, as the Feds apparently can't keep any former employers' tax ID's straight, either.)
On the plus side, bugs in the Portland, OR arts tax form and in the Form 8962 worksheet were fixed this time around.
