I would recommend it to anyone who likes the independence of doing their own taxes.
What's great about it: Have used TurboTax for several years, the routine is comfortable as an old shoe.

2015 Tax Expeience

The 2015 program was the best year for ease of use and step by step instruction I have had in the 5 years I've used this product. I have been frustrated in the past with the e-file process( not knowing if the return was accepted) and some of the special credits I was to receive that were not visible in the program.

Been using TurboTax since around 1985 and have no regrets. I appreciate you all giving me the tools to prepare my own tax returns. Thanks and bunch. Nick
the questionnaire below I left some unanswered, for example I am a widower, my wife died, and I do not see myself as single, is an example. Similar issues with some of the other limited answers.

Not as good as last years.

Biggest problem was not being able to do the updates. So I searched online to find out many had this same problem & it was suggested to do a manual update. I did a search for a manual update and it let me do that. I was then able to do Federal. When it was time to continue to States it said it needed to update but again it wouldn't do it. It said it had 3 more minutes but I couldn't find a manual update for this one so I had to use the PA State's own website which is NOT very user friendly, Needless to say it took me more hours due these problems.
What's great about it: Easy to understand
What's not so great: Couldn't install updates - therefore couldn't do state taxes. Did a manual update but wouldn't do all updates.

Excellent product. Easy to use. Most items are intuitive. Some tax help boxes are limited. Some tax lingo could use a layman's definition/explanation.

TT Hates TurboTax

1] TurboTax needs to have on-line chat to answer questions. It took me too long to figure out how to use the program. I've used T-Tax since 2008 but this is the last year I'll buy it.
2] There is no way to over ride what T-Tax thinks is to be done and allow the user to make an entry contrary to it's direction.
What's great about it: What pros????
What's not so great: Add purchase cost to cost to E-File state tax & you save by having a professional prepare your taxes.
