Just Got Intuit!!!

TurboTax is a product that is so personable and accommodating, it's like having your own personal Tax Preparing Concierge!
What's great about it: Extremely Simple!
What's not so great: Add some humor
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

2015 Delux Edition

Has worked reliably, accurately and thoroughly for about 7 years now. There was one ambiguous point where it was a bit challenging to decide if expenses qualified as Unreimbursed Educational Expenses, or General Business Expenses, but I think we resolved it correctly.
What's great about it: Straightforward, thorough, clearly steps you through every process
What's not so great: A little bit of ambiguity about separating out Unreimbursed Educational Expenses from General Business Expenses

Still needs work

We ran through all the simple questions but found the resultant return did not print out the form 8829 that we needed for our home office. It was difficult to find, so we had to flip to the "forms" area and figure out how to enter the information. Stupid.
Also, it's unclear as you're entering the simple questions about joint filers whether you're answering for one, the other, or both. Again, stupid.

What's great about it: simple, but kept eliminating questions I'd already answered
What's not so great: you can't tell where you are, and it didn't access necessary forms

Decent Program with Some Flaws

Glad to see Turbo Tax added the federal form for reporting K-1 information on federal returns in the Advantage program. Last year, it required an upgrade to Premier, which had not been required in the past. Electronic filing of state return still a problem. This year, like last year program indicated "payment session timed out" when I went to enter credit card information. Like last year, I had to call Intuit for a confirmation code in order to proceed filing the state return.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Recurrent problem with electronic filing of state tax.

Great Tax Software

I have used Turbo Tax now for over ten years and have never been audited. I like that Turbo Tax takes you through things step by to see to determine what items qualify to be used in determining your taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to use, goes through things step by step
What's not so great: Expensive

the requirement to pay an upgrade fee in order for me to file electronically is completely unreasonable. I had a hard enough time paying a fee for the wire transfer but that additional upgrade fee went too far. This year i will mail my return and you will not receive any of the fees.
