Been using Turbo-Tax for years and it has consistently provided clear, concise tools to efficiently prepare our returns. It is cost effective, secure and reliable.
What's great about it: straighforward
What's not so great: none

Turbo Tax software is still the easiest to use, and the best on the market for tax novices like myself.

Quality product, but not perfect

I had nearly completed the interview process, but then realized that my husband and I were reversed on the form from previous years (who was Taxpayer and who was Spouse). From experience, I know this should be consistent from year to year so I reversed the names/DOB/SSN of Taxpayer and Spouse during the final review portion of the process. Unfortunately, this messed up any information from earlier in the process that was individual to either of us (W2's, HSA's, etc) that took a few hours to correct. (I was trying to avoid repeating the entire interview.) Ugh! Thankfully a last second check caught the mistake before filing, but I definitely learned my lesson about reviewing the forms myself before submitting.
What's great about it: Easy to use interview, I've used for many years and really like it.
What's not so great: Changes may not be carried across to forms as intended

Easy for novice

Sadly, in many cases there was no reference to "limits" until all info entered, Then one must retrace and redo.
What's great about it: Easy to understand
What's not so great: Wish there was reference to "limits" by section

2015 is done

This is my first year using TurboTax. I had my CPA complete our 2015 taxes as I have done for several. I decided to run a parallel return using TurboTax. The questions ask by TT were more detailed than what my CPA asked. The bottom line is TT reduced my tax liability by $1200 over my now terminated CPA. My return is somewhat simple but I would trust the software with a more complex return.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and fill in the blanks
What's not so great: I didn't care for the "All Most done messages"
