Review of 2015 TurboTax Deluxe

I've been using this TurboTax Deluxe version for a number of years and for our situation it's served us very well. I appreciate the ease of operation of moving through the progressive steps in the program and the ability to move back and forth in previous work to review and edit. This year I documented more thoroughly on-line purchases to calculate use tax. TurboTax resources for coming up with sale tax rates were helpful but I still have some questions that I need to research. The information on handling health insurance coverage was helpful in deciding what to do with Form 1095-C which we received from my employer.

I have used Turbo Tax for so many years now and it has been the right fit for me. Anything that I have had a question on, I have found an answer through the online help tax advice and the Turbo Tax Community. The reports are crisp and clean and the worksheets help you remember from year to year just how you reached an amount. I will use this product every year.
What's great about it: It's so easy and helpful

Poor State experience, Federal Frustrating

Unfortunately moved this year and had to file a state return first time in many years. The instructions for PA were non existent. Kept having to go back over and over to look up where it was getting state info, only to have to repeatedly re-answer questions I had done before. Never in my life have used a program that literally took 15 hours to do a return when I had everything gathered up.
What's not so great: Burdensome, State instrucitons POOR
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

TurboTax guides me into all the applicable areas of my required tax calculations. It makes sure that I leave no rock unturned as it were and gives me confidence that I'm covering all that is required in filiing my taxes. I'm not trained nor skilled in taxes yet I see results that show that the program is taking care to accurately and fully deal with my tax obligations.
What's great about it: TurboTax instructs me and guides me to ensure that I calculate taxes correctly and fully.
What's not so great: Sometime I didn't know how to get back on a topic -- but trial and error worked

Like an old pair of shoes - comfortable and useful

I began using TurboTax long ago - whenever the first commercial release arrived on retail shelves - I was on it. In all those years I have never experienced a problem that was not self inflicted.
I have grown accustomed to the way TT works - the procedures are familiar; not a whole new way to learn in what for me is a stressful situation. That is not to say that the product today is the same product I first used. The developers are adept at including all relevant changes in tax laws, while keeping a lot of the machinations out of the users sight.
Each year I look forward to the coming release - have yet to be disappointed in the currency of the procedures and the completion of the miserable tax reporting process.

What's great about it: I prefer the guided completion. Others may thrill to the challenge and the risk of self guided. Not I!
What's not so great: Loss of computer and storage meant I did not have 2014 return available. My backup CD failed to load - start over!

Needless repetition

Took forever to get this one done. Filing from same computer yet each income source had to be typed piece by piece. Not happy with having zero info pull forward.
