Good on the whole

Turbo tax got the transfer of my State income tax from last year wrong.
Quantities involved with sale of home were still very complicated despite the guidance of the program.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: Doesn't account for "EXP" on W2 and messed up refund information transfer
Pros: I moved

First Major Glitch

The program has been great. I've used it since before 2010, flawless. This year was the first time my 2014 TurboTax return wouldn't transfer into my 2015 TurboTax filing (for Mac, if anyone's interested). I had to enter manually absolutely everything, as if I were a first-time TurboTax customer. That was a pain, but even then, they walk you through everything, a really nice feature.
What's great about it: TurboTax walks you through everything, really nice.
What's not so great: 2014 TurboTax return wouldn't transfer into my 2015 return

on April 16, 2016

I had a 1099 misc and I hope everything is filed right. I wasn't confident with the information available to me so I purchased the support in the event I am flagged.
What's great about it: have to have faith in the program
What's not so great: not clear on it

A good investment but needs improvements.

The explanatory text / directions on each page isn't copyable which is useful when discussing the content of the page with another person, such as on a forum or in this review. (I had to type each character below instead of being able to copy from TTax and paste here.)
When "visiting" a place, like medical expenses, when you're done you are returned to the top of the page instead of the last item you just visited.
Also, if something doesn't apply to you TTax doesn't seem to let you know that you already answered no/doesn't apply. It should indicate "revisit", "Update","does not apply" or "you said none" such as "Retirement Plans and Social Security" if you "Visit All" and tell TT you had none of those items (answer No to "Did You Receive Any Retirement Income for 2015?" it takes you back to (the top of page of "Your 2015 Income Summary" (instead of to "Visit All" and it still says "Start" for all the items in that section.
[This review page won't let me use my previously used reviewer name! It should ask me to log in with my TTax ID or another ID from the last time I reviewed!]
What's great about it: It gets the job done and carries over from last year's TTax.
What's not so great: Can't copy text from pages except that which you entered. Returns to top of info instead of where you were.

Can't copy and paste submittal forms
on April 16, 2016
Posted by: ibdisturbed
Sign in to Intuit required won't let me copy and paste into form or any other submittal forms such as my and my wife's driver license info, code emailed to me to verify who I am, credit card information all blocks must be typed in. Almost all other websites permit copy and paste into forms and windows.
What's not so great: Can't copy and paste submittal information

Easy and Accurate

Since I started using Turbo Tax several years ago, I feel much more confident that my returns are accurate. I sometimes have extra forms to fill out based on self employment income as well as W-2s and 1099s. Turbo Tax completely eliminates the human error that comes with "transfer line 14, Form D to line 85, Form Z."
What's great about it: Makes doing taxes almost easy!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
