Program gets better every year

I have used the program for many years. It gets easier and better every year. Thanks for always improving the program. Also, customer service is excellent. I called at the busiest time and got prompt and friends service.
What's great about it: Super Easy

Could be better

I have used Turbo Tax for at least ten years. At least two years ago, the program was more trouble than it was worth. Last year, it was better but had not returned to the level it used to have several years ago. This year, 2015, it has regained some of its quality but it still has a ways to go. It is as if there was no Beta testing and if it was done, there must have been a set procedure followed instead of just having people go on their own and break the program. Things have to be tested using 'out-of-box' thinking.
What's great about it: It walked me though the areas very well.
What's not so great: The program did not pick up all the information it could have from previous years.

I am actually a fan of TurboTax. I have used it religiously for about 10 years. I had one frustration this year I just wanted to pass on to someone. On the screen where you choose to e-file the federal return, I would like to be able to designate that I want to do the states by mail. The way it is now, if you choose to e-file your federal, it just assumes you are e-filing the states. So you have to go ahead and e-file the fed and then go back and change your designation on the fed to mail in order to do the states. That is not that big of deal, but then when you are saving for your records, it sort of messes things up. It would be so easy to have a screen that says "how do you want to file each return". I would hate to think Turbotax is just trying to leverage folks to e-file the states for extra money....
What's great about it: Pretty easy to follow and if you use it for years it makes it easy beause it uses your past returns
What's not so great: No real cons exxcept the fursustration with filing described in the review.

2015 TurboTax

I have been using TurboTax for about 15 years and it certainly makes preparing my Federal Tax Return less stressful because it guides me through every step.
What's great about it: Very user friendly and intuitive, use ItsDeductible to estimate value of charitable gifts.
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

For the last 10 years we have used Turbo Tax and have never had an issue.
What's great about it: Works everytime
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I like the product a lot but the cost to E-file state return is way to high. I am probably going to look at using another software next year because of the E-filing cost.
What's great about it: software is very user friendly
What's not so great: Cost to E-File state is high
