Clergy Taxes
on April 16, 2016

As a clergy person I have always been warned about the difficulties of doing my own taxes. However, for the last 8 years, I have used Turbo tax to file a married joint return and as a clergy person with tax-free housing and paying SECA - I can do it easily with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: simple and straightforward!
What's not so great: none

Extra Charge
on April 16, 2016

When purchasing a a second non-free state tax return, there was an additional fee charged when I approved deduction the cost of the tax return from the refund. I went back and charged the fee to my credit card and the second processing fee was not charged. You should notify people about this charge before they decide to have it deducted from their refund.
What's not so great: Extra Fee

I have used Turbo Tax for years and this is the first time that I have seen the identity check, which I think is wonderful to prevent identity theft and fraud

I am an accountant that really doesn't get involved with taxes at work. We have an outside CPA firm do all of our taxes. I hate doing taxes due to the constant changes in the regulations.
Turbo Tax makes this SO EASY! I've been using Turbo Tax for years.
Outstanding product!
What's great about it: extremely logical and easy to sue
What's not so great: Don't like the add on expense requests

Fast and easy!

The thing I like best about using TurboTax is that I can work on it, save it, and come back to it if I can't finish in one sitting. I tend to have to skim over areas, and then return when I have the documentation available. I also like seeing the running total at the top.
What's great about it: Walks you through it all

An Updating Nightmare
on April 16, 2016
Posted by: Lotbo
Very frustrating! It constantly wants to update, but takes a crazy amount of time to do this (like a whole day and then some). I got tired of waiting and cancelled the update. I finally got it updated, but had to do it manually. The state return is another mess. once again, it never downloaded. Then they wanted to charge me $44.95 for a state download that should be included with Turbo Tax Deluxe. Shelling out cash for Turbo Tax, only to go through all those hassles doesn't seem fair.
What's great about it: Walks you through the Federal portion.
What's not so great: Updates never downloaded properly. State return never did download.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
