Easy to do!

Never be afraid to do your own taxes. I used to use Turbo Tax for years and then a few years ago I got busy and lazy and had someone do them for me. This year I came back to Turbo Tax and glad I did. I have a better understanding of my income, the taxes I pay and even learn some new ways to save this year that no one ever told me about before. Sit down, get all your paperwork and do your taxes yourself and save $$$ and learn!!!
What's great about it: Simple and accurate
What's not so great: Need some time.

Guide Easy

Excellent product. User friendly.
What's great about it: The program guides you through the items. Feel the non tax perparer is able to get all benefits.
What's not so great: You don't know wher the paperwork is in my home!

All Good except PIN issues

Due to being hacked in the past I have to file with an IRS
issued 6 digit PIN.
There should be better directions on when and how to enter
this info, such as a little section asking Does your return
require an IRS PIN Yes/No ?
Then guide the user through the process.
Mentioning that this is not the same as E-File 5 digit PIN
would eliminate some pain at the end.
Overall a very good product !

software glitch

The program does not take into consideration that someone who earns <$4,000 can be claimed as a dependent on their parents return. The child's return automatically places a $4,000 personal deduction on their return which then voids the opportunity for the parent to claim the child as a dependent. Cost me >$1,000 in taxes, ugh!!!
What's great about it: Generally easy to use
What's not so great: No personal interaction possible when there is an actual glitch in the program

Problems using TurboTax with Windows 10 OS

With the software in windows 10 view when I saved I had to go the task view to open the page again.
What's great about it: Great software, I hav been using it since 1993
What's not so great: Too much flipping between Windows and task view
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo tax makes a complex task much easier. However, I found it difficult to return to NJ and NJ screens to amend and correct entries.

Turbo Tax is my friend

I have used Turbo tax for many years and never had any problems with it. I have used it for Corporation business as well and it provided good instructions. I compared it one year with another brand and Turbo Tax won out.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Tells me what I need to do
What's not so great: Difficulty with locating instructions for mailing in my check
