Almost without a hitch!

During the review process the program highlighted missing information that I was to manually enter. I was confused by what the program was asking and where it was to be entered. After entering data in the highlighted areas the program doubled the amounts of my charitable donations and I didn't catch it until after I had electronically submitted my federal and state forms. I now will have to file amended tax forms.
What's great about it: 95% of turbo tax program is a breeze to enter data.
What's not so great: Entering data on form 8283 was very confusing to me.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Auto Updater Error 2145386407 hangs Turbotax

Auto update stopped with errors (Error 2145386407 on both Federal and State forms). Task manager was required to get back into TurboTax. Needed to shut down TurboTax and restart TurboTax. Auto update stopped and then a request popped up requesting to make changes to my computer from an unknown source. I took a chance and allowed the update to continue. When the first update was completed, a second request popped up to make changes to my computer from an unknown source. Repeated the same sequence as the first pop up window. The second update completed. Auto update completed successfully and restarted TurboTax. Procedure only worked on weekdays.
On weekends, I could stop the updater task using the Task Manager. Then start TurboTax bypassing the update request.
Been using TurboTax for years from a disk sent each December. Disappointed that source was unidentified and not Identified as Intuit. If the forms are not available an error message is OK but allow me to exit the updater and restart TurboTax without resorting to use of the Task Manager.
What's great about it: TurboTax was very good after forms were updated.
What's not so great: Auto update stopped with errors.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used turbo tax forever and it has never done me wrong.
What's great about it: quick easy instructive
What's not so great: e filing is confusing

Have used Turbo Tax for over 30 years. Hard to think how easy they have made it. Very confident when done that it is accurate and return monies are fast.
What's great about it: did not think it could get easier
What's not so great: hard to go back and forth

Piece of Cake Tax Returns

The real key to making this usually onerous task easy is to be totally organized with all documents BEFORE starting. Then just follow the prompts.
What's great about it: Easily understood
What's not so great: Some minor difficulty loading application. Not a Big Deal

you cant go wrong with turbo tax. I went to a professional tax preparer a few years ago and all they did was use a similar program and just asked the same questions. I could have done it my self with turbo tax. any questions you have are easily answered.
What's great about it: simple to use
What's not so great: took a long time to update changes
