Glad to be done!

If you have to do taxes, Turbo Tax is the best way to do it from the comfort of your own home. You can at least go find the papers you may need and you don't get timed out of the program!!!

Time-consuming but reassuring

I’ve used TurboTax for 20 years or so and can’t imagine fillling out paper forms anymore. In general, I like it a lot, but I have four complaints/suggestions after doing 2015 taxes. 1) The “Back” button sometimes skips back to the start of a section instead of one step. 2) On final reviews, TT often asks for some obscure number missing from form, such as “Line 35 from Form 8615”, often from LAST YEAR’s return. Since TT imports info from last year’s return, I don’t understand why it can’t find such data itself. 3) The steps for the Virginia long-term insurance credit and deduction are VERY confusing. I had to do an hour’s online research to understand the difference, why I was eligible for one and not the other, and what the correct amount should be. I actually entered this info incorrectly at first, resulting in a large refund that didn’t seem right, prompting me to research it further and getting a different result. 4) There is no way to simply send feedback to TT. I really didn’t want to write a public review, or answer a forum question, or chat with a rep. I just wanted to email this feedback and could find no way to do it.
What's great about it: Confidence you've done everything right.
What's not so great: Some instructions very unclear; asks for data you don't know where to find.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Better than last year

This year, it was much easier to get started than it has ever been. This is the first time I haven't had some sort of glitch or delay in launching the application after installing. The instructions were good and easy to understand and follow. i really like "It's Deductible" for valuing donations. I am going to investigate having an account with it year around. It would make tax prep that much easier.
What's great about it: Simple, straightforward instructions
What's not so great: Downloading updates every time I open Turbotax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Use of Turbotax

It would be nice to have a section for the taxes to review from a tab at the top.
I have used this method for doing my taxes for years. I have looked at some other programs and they are not nearly as good or easy to use. Thank you.

I'm fine with this program in general but I've always hated that it goes back to the top. You finish a section and want to move on but it takes you all the way back to the beginning every time. Why can't it just come up where I left off?

A good program for the most part. Only being able to file 5 free Federal returns and zero State returns electronically is frustrating. How about 7 Federal and 7 State returns?
The price for additional states is too expensive. We have four children in four different states so TurboTax pricing doesn't work well for our family when it comes to multiple states.
Please consider changing your pricing policy for electronic filing for states and the cost for state returns after the first state.
