It went OK at the end

I used to use professional version. I liked it a lot.
But because of difficulty with transferring data from prior year, the ordinary taxpayer's version seems to be too high. I don't think the quality is to there. If the price I paid was for both Federal and one state, I think it was proper.

High Cost of State Returns

It seems like Intuit is bundling the State turbotax and Quicken with TurboTax in order to save you money, but even with the automatic renew subscription, there is NO SAVINGS!
What's great about it: none
What's not so great: Claim the state turbotax is free, but it costs to efile

An excellent program that guides you through the process every easily and very understandable. I would even say it is foolproof.
It asks you all the questions and explains them further if you more information before proceeding. I have been using Turbo Tax for about 8 years now and it seems to get better each year.
Their updates are always timely.

The sofware easy to use and very reliable so I don't feel the need to try other brands out there.
What's great about it: Easy to use software, including going back through forms and making necessary changes.

Turbo Tax keeps me organized throughout the year and make catch up easy when I wasn't.
Can't imagine using any other software.

How I Spent My 2015 Tax Preparation Time

Turbotax is very thorough and easy to use. I feel confident about the results. I do, however, believe that guidance through the HSA contribution accounting could use more explanation. I believe one could easily be led to report HSA contributions in a manner that could cost them money. That is, if not reported correctly taxable income could be reported too high.
What's great about it: Topic by topic guidance and ability to customize guidance.
What's not so great: HSA contributions could be clearer.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

5 YEARS AND COUNTING

Been using Turbo Tax for the last five years and even though I know I am going to pay extra taxes, I feel it minimizes my exposure to the excess taxes I have to pay.
Easy to use and understand. Will use it again next year
What's great about it: Turbo Tax continues to make improvments in it program for us non accountant types.
