So Incredibly helpful

TurboTax helps me to feel confident that I am preparing my returns accurately and getting the best return possible. The interactive questioning helps me to understand what I need to put where and the auto-check feature helped me to find anything I forgot. The tax law is so confusing that trying to do this without software is really awful! But because things are so confusing, there are still parts of TurboTax where I don't fully feel comfortable
What's great about it: The step-by-step approach and drop down menus helped so much
What's not so great: Some things are still confusing

Excellent Software for the Average Person

Detailed and helpful step-by-step filing process. Makes filing taxes stress free and almost enjoyable (if you're getting a refund, I guess.) I highly recommend for the average low itemized deductions tax filing.

it was easy and relatively quick, paying extra for state taxes seems bogus

Good...except...

Good overall experience, as usual, except for trying to buy TaxAudit - program "hung up" and wouldn't let me proceed. Called the "help" number and, after waiting on hold, was told to all TaxAudit directly. TaxAudt charged my credit card but didn't send me a certificate, so now I will have to hassle with that. This is usually good program so I was surprised, and disappointed, that this specific area failed.
What's great about it: Esay, accurate, comprehensive
What's not so great: One problem

Have used TurboTax Deluxe since 2011. With Intuit's Quicken categorizing transactions downloaded from my banking and credit cards, TurboTax's import placing automatically in the correct Form 1040 lines makes tax returns a SNAP.
I would NOT USE ANY OTHER SOFTWARE!!!!!!
TURBOTAX IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's great about it: EVERYTHING!
What's not so great: NONE

So for a number of years I've used Turbo Tax.
This year was a bit harder - my taxes are getting hard too.

You had all income then expenses and analysis.
So when I had to go back and alter something it was not as straight forward as I had wanted.

Again no ability to preform what ifs unless you could find where to enter Pension info.
Business expense also hard to find.
Liked what you did with the state Tax.

I've always used this product in the past, but this year I thought I wouldn't use TurboTax. However, everything change when I realize I would need to read mountains of tax instructions just get started. The process of doing it myself through the IRS website became overwhelmingly complicated that I dashed out the door and bought the program.
