Very user friendly with just a few bugs

It would be nice if after you complete your forms, you can look on the review of the form, say a 1040, highlight an amount such as tax exempt interest, and have it show you how it calculated that figure. I have that issue but still don't know exactly where it came from. I'll have to go through the actual tax instructions to see where it may have come from which is something I'd rather avoid and why I use a program like Turbo Tax. It's hard to explain, but that's the jest of it.
The State side of it could be a little more user friendly yet, though it's gotten better. I'm sure it depends on what state you live in. However, in our case we needed to fill out a 2210, but the box that showed it was small and you could only see one small portion of it at a time. I'd rather that show up in a full size screen with the whole form showing. It would be much easier to understand. There really isn't much in the way of 'instructions' on what to enter on the State side either which is uncomfortable. It's still easier than using our state's own site, and it's nice to compare what I come up with on Turbo Tax vs what I get on the State side, just to see if I have filled it all out correctly.
What's great about it: Easier and more user friendly every year
What's not so great: Some areas need more specified work
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The information sections did not help in trying to understand the energy efficiency deductions. The student expenses was another item of concern for us. It did not cover any items that was helpful.
What's great about it: The walk thru was efficient, thorough and fast to use.
What's not so great: not enough information on energy deductions and student loans.

After 15 years . . .

It seems that I have been using this product for about 15 years now. The basic operation is sound and you get the info where it needs to be on the forms. Now it is always efile! which helps a lot. All the questions drive me crazy at times. Perhaps that is more an issue with the IRS than TT. I NEVER even think of going to another product. I have never had an issue with the product - the tax law and all the rest can be a pain. Why can't you fix that too?
What's great about it: Still great at helping us thru the little questions and issues
What's not so great: The CONTINUE button moves on the screen and it is hard to QUICKLY thru sections by clicking the mouse

Better than last year

2015 felt like it worked better than 2014, however there are minor problems that necessitate careful review of everything. When printing my NJ return for filing, the filing instructions page detailed how to submit my 2012 return to NJ. gave me a double take and then back to the program to be sure that I didn't input the wrong info somewhere. Also with the NJ state return, the program still has difficulty determining what the deduction codes in njw2 box 14 mean ands the drop down choices leave me befuddled. Finally cleaned up NJ income doubling that plaqued me for years, forcing the program to accept manual over-rides. Also, don't like the way some boxes in the interview input don't tell you that to answer input the total, you must start to type before the program opens up an input field. pecifically when it comes to estimated tax payments, the input of payment info seems awkward.
What's great about it: Program worked better than last year
What's not so great: help lacks depth. specific questions force using the internet for resolution
