well-planned, but halted just before the finish

As usual, Turbo Tax was a carefully orchestrated process. This smooth flow, however, came to a screeching halt when my state return attempted to file. The explanation took some manipulation to display, and then I had to wait for open-hours to obtain a confirmation. The phone rep though was very pleasant to work with; her expedient response restored my confidence in TurboTax.
What's great about it: carefully planned process
What's not so great: issue to obtaining state confirmation

I did all of this work and things have gotten to the point that I would have been just as well off with a short form.

Flat tax 2016

Two areas I would like to see changed.
1. The first is to automatically move you to the next category when you are utilizing the walk me through each step.
2. When you answer a question within the return to keep the answer there unless changed. When I return to review sections the basic answers I had selected like do you have accounts in other countries, I select no and when I go back over the section I have to re-answer the questions as my answer is no longer filled in.

I have been using Turbo Tax for nearly 30 years now. Once I have all the necessary papers on hand, it has never taken more than an hour - even when we were filing business taxes as well.
I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants to do their own taxes.

Tax Season Made Easy

I love TurboTax, but I do wish that when I had a question I was able to get a better answer just by clicking on "Ask a Question," They need to provide a larger FAQ
What's great about it: Simple, easy to follow tax preparation

I am actually excited about filing my taxes NEXT YEAR! who has ever said that before? My son and I bought the program and were able to use it for both families' filings. I am very pleased. Keep it up!!!! If you were here I'd give hugs.
What's great about it: Instructions and leading questions were wonderful
What's not so great: I don't really understand my "total income" figure.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

There seems to be a lack of information in the program on the process and steps to take when filing from a foreign country with foreign accounts. Also, do you need to pay your taxes on April 15th if you have an automatic extension of time to file of June 15th? If you delay filing, is there interest and penalties on what you owe?
What's great about it: No need to understand the complex calculations. Just let the program do it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
