Aiyup - it was that easy

Once again, TurboTax made filing taxes easy. Plugged in my numbers, looked to see if anything new came up this year, found answers to the few questions that arose. It was even easy to see how I might prepare for next year's taxes, now that I'm not going to have a tuition deduction anymore.
Didn't take very long - is it really just that easy??? - and yup, it's done. Huzzah!

Easy to Complete and File

I was a first-time user of the product so was somewhat skeptical. I had read other reviews along with some of the cons about the product. However, I was extremely happy and satisfied with the product while completing my return! TurboTax made the job easy and stress-free from beginning to completion. Software loaded easily and quickly and the directions were clear and easy to follow. TurboTax listed all the items I would need to file, stepped me through the process and even how to E-file along with a link to receive what I needed to E-file. Very satisfied overall and I will certainly use this again.
What's great about it: Clear complete directions, prompts when sections needed review or clarification, ability to use back button to review
What's not so great: Wish I had gotten a refund but not the fault of the software!

quick and easy

Overall, TurboTax is great. I have used the software since 2009 and like it a lot. Going through the questionnaire (Easy step) is very easy. Whenever a difficult situation comes up, you can easily flip to the actual form to see what is needed.
There are two downsides.
1) CT does not make it easy to apportion income when only part of your federal income is made in CT. Turbo Tax makes you go through and create a fake federal return so that the numbers can be entered for CT. Instead of this, TurboTax could do it by software, and allow you to select which parts are applicable, just like it does for NY.
2) When more than one state is filed, you have to pay for additional states (understandable), but then have to pay again to file that state electronically. I would think that the second payment would be included in the purchase price, so this is a negative.

I highly recommend TurboTax deluxe. It handles a fairly complicated return with ease.

Great Software

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years. It's easy to use, I just follow the "guide me" step-by-step.
What's great about it: Easy to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is a great tool but the state tax section when asked about last years withholdings, TurboTax didn't give any helpful hints of where the information might be located. More tips would be helpful when hovering over the caption of the required field. What is the difference between "CA Income withheld" and "CA withholdings from W-2"?
What's great about it: Fast, Safe, Easily available at any time of the day
What's not so great: Not always sure what the program is asking for

Easy Does It

Have been using Turbo Tax for many years and find it easy to us, plus really like having last year's data quickly uploaded when starting the next year's return.
What's great about it: Quick & easy to compile required info.
What's not so great: For state, non-resident must answer many questions only residents need answer.
