I noticed the amount I was getting back this year was significantly less than last year and I couldn't figure out why. I had to talk to different people and finally figured out I needed to claim myself as an exemption. Although this may be basic, I am younger and have not done my taxes as many times as others. I found myself very frustrated knowing something was wrong but not sure how to fix it. In addition, once I found out line 6a needed to be changed, I couldn't find where in the program to go back to make the necessary changes. Besides that, I do love TurboTax. I have found it very helpful and easy to use in the past.
What's great about it: Quick & Easy
What's not so great: Didn't explain enough when I needed it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The entire process has been made more user friendly. The language was clearer, easier to navigate.

Helped me with my returns re: my first year as a single, with debt forgiveness, and paying alimony.
What's great about it: Asked typical tax questions in a logical progressive order
What's not so great: Not much....very thorough

Turbotax kept crashing

What's great about it: It extracted a lot of information from my last years return saving me a lot of labor entering that information
What's not so great: The software kept crashing over and over again. I had to uninstall and then reinstall, it still crashed a couple of time

tax prep sucks but turbo tax makes it suck less

much easier than doing taxes on paper
What's great about it: ccalculations are automatic and lower taxes are easier to figure out
What's not so great: should be free online tax prep programs by IRS, not for-profit companies
