Took a while to figure out

Although this was pretty easy to do, it took a while to figure out the what and why/ why not of any deductions. It crashed on me twice. Although I downloaded it on the 12th, there was an update for forms on the 13th? How is that possible? So I had to wait for another update download. Also, it created a form for me and I have no idea why as I didn't have anything but standard deductions. I had to go back into the healthcare tab twice before it recognized that I had healthcare. It took a lot of questions before it would actually file my return. I wonder if I really got back the maximum return. I may go back to an accountant next year.
What's great about it: ease of info and automatic entry of W-2 data
What's not so great: download time, menu confusion

What's great about it: interview makes it easy to explore an item
What's not so great: the help is usually tax code language

Quick as Ever

I continue to use this product as it seems to be a good tool to avoid high preparation fees. It is very easy to use and walks through each step as you want. Fairly quick as long as you have your documents together.
What's great about it: Easy to Understand and Fairly Quick
What's not so great: Identity concerns have added steps

TT worked fine as usual but this year I owed money to the IRS.

TT gave errors and would NOT let me E-file until I removed these forms.
Updating the form and saying NO did not help!
I had to go to the web to find out I had to delete this forms

Caused my 2 hours of headaches.
What's great about it: Step by step
What's not so great: Can't get rid of forms that caused errors without internet help

Turbo Tax 2016

I have used Turbo Tax for several years, approximately 18 years. Each year the product is enhanced and navigation is improved. I will continue to use the product as long as I have easy access to the detail information in the system; if product tries to mask details like Microsoft keeps doing with it's operating system releases, I will consider a different product.At present I believe they have a great product.
What's great about it: product is easy to use; either path of prompts or direct access to forms

Still Needs Improvement

In past years there were two places where you were asked to enter your housing allowance (clergy housing). If you entered it into both places then it doubled your Social Security taxes. This year it did not ask the question in a forthright manner. But, I noticed that my refund was huge, and that no SE form was in my tax forms. I had to Google how to solve the problem, and Google answered it explicitly. So, others obviously had the problem. I'd love to see this finally get solved!
What's great about it: Very systemmatic and thorough which helps my memory.
What's not so great: Minister's housing allowance is still not intuitive.

I've always loved Turbo Tax!

I've been preparing my family's taxes with Turbo Tax for several years, and it's never disappointed. I love how each category is thoroughly covered, and everything is done step by step, so nothing is missed. The reviews of each area are covered, and there are many opportunities to go back and correct items, if needed. I sat down about an hour ago to do our full 1040, including loading TT on my desktop, and got done within 60 minutes, with a copy printed for my records. I highly recommend Turbo Tax!

Helpfull clear direction

have done my taxes for forty years and been with turbo for the last four. Where were you in 1972? You can pay someone else and not have a clue what's happening or you can struggle on your own and be uncertain of the results, or you can take the turbo class and at least be confident the outcome is acceptable and correct. Filing with turbo will enable a person to learn how to apply procedures that reduce their tax exposure for the future. Cheap education in my world.
What's great about it: logical steps to complete a governmental nightmare-great value
What's not so great: not a one except would appreciate a paragraph on how standard vs itemized deductions decided
