TurboTax - Simply The Best!

TurboTax is so easy to use! It covers every possible money saving item and deductions available and guides you step-by-step through the process. I can't understand why anyone would want to pay a tax professional a fee for something you can do for yourself. Unless you are a corporate business or an individual with a very complicated tax situation, I can't see why you would not want to use TurboTax. I spend more time just organizing and making sure I have all of my forms and records ready, than I do actually inputting and filing my return! And the next year all of the vital information will automatically input into the new forms from the previous year.
What's great about it: It is so easy, especially after you have done it one year - everything transfers and you somply have to update!
What's not so great: What's not to like?

The instructions are clear and easy to follow as long as you have the necessary documents.
What's great about it: You can review the actual filing documents at anytime

Still like the software product vs web

I've been using TurboTax for somewhere around 20+ years. I still prefer the software application vs the web product, and having most the data and forms stored locally. And, I can say to me it's worth the additional cost vs the web product given those 2 things. It's just simple to use and you can easily stop save and go back to a point in your return easily should need to update something or double check previous entries. The other big bonus -- you are not so dependent on internet access to just perform data entries on your return once initially installed and it updates, only electronically file.
Thanks for a simple to use tax filing product that has made tax filing much less painless for me for many years.
What's great about it: Pretty much all data and forms are stored locally to your computer
What's not so great: You have to install a limited use software application

Generally good. I would like to see the previous year and the current year items listed side by side before the end of the VA state program. This is done on the federal tax program.

Hidden Costs

I like the program and have used it for many years however, I get increasingly frustrated with the costs presented at the end of the filing process. There should be some statement at the beginning of the process that informs customers of the potential expenditures and the options regarding cost savings.
I seem to remember there was a cost printed on the front of the carton for state filing. and I didn't see on the box or package. I will continue to use Turbo Tax and it's products.

Efficient

TurboTax is a great tool; but at times, it seems that there are areas that they're trying to be more complex with; areas that were easier in the past. It might help to explain "why" someone might be payng more or less in taxes or getting more or less in refunds based on prior years (ie: change in tax codes; credits changed because of x; etc.)
What's great about it: Was able to get my taxes done within a few hours
What's not so great: Still have to pay an e-file processing fee for refunds though e-filing is supposed to be easier

It's all good...

It took a while to get the software to update but after that was taken care of everything went very quickly. I have been using Turbo Tax for the past five years and I would never use anything else. I always use the Deluxe Version and it covers everything I need! Thank you Turbo Tax for getting this software on the market.
What's great about it: If there is a question in your mind as to what to do there is always an explaination.
What's not so great: this year it took a while to get the software working, I had to reboot before it would update.
