Bought HR Block originally-trashed the disk as too many complications--Bought Turbo Tax--and am a FAN forever

Some problems this time

Nearly everything went well, but...
Problem with the update screen freezing. Took forever to do the update.
Also, when it came time to eFile, and I selected the credit card option, I got a screen with three option buttons, no way to go forward, and a <Back> button that did nothing. Had to complete that purchase by phone.
This hasn't happened in previous years.
The agent on the phone was competent, helpful and pleasant. The automated system that got me to her had problems understanding. Voice recognition needs work.

Like sitting with the tax person!

I'm just retired and I ran into a major snag when it came to qualified or not qualified annuity. This had a major impact on the results. I had to do a search for the best answer. Please include a little direction in this area. Thanks! Good job!
What's great about it: Almost drives itself. Just fill in the data TurboTax asks.
What's not so great: Some of the data info is a little vague.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Taxes seemed fine, but software kept crashing

I'm not sure what was going on but the software crashed 6 or 7 times while I was preparing my return.
What's great about it: Easy tax prep

State vs Federal

I have bee using this product for at least five years, and will continue to use it.
What's great about it: Federal very easy to use.
What's not so great: State is shown in form fashion, which is confusing when trying to figure out issues brought up by Turbo Tax.

Poor Usability

The fact that Turbotax does not warn users to save their work before a suggested update is begun can be tortuous.
What's great about it: Basics are easy to follow
What's not so great: Questions are not answered clearly
