Quick, easy to follow and thorough

I have to admit, using this software completely dismissed any fears I may have had about doing my own taxes.
What's great about it: Excellent explanations and guides
What's not so great: Doing taxes are always time-consuming

Only flaw I find is Turbo appears not to print out all the required forms for the Maryland filing in regards to taking credit for taxes paid to other states.

2015 Taxes

What's great about it: Personal info carried over, Download info from investment accounts, comparing 2015 to 2015 return as I input.
What's not so great: Difficult to go back and determine how some of the calculations were done.

Great! As long as....

I use it every year to compute and file our federal and Ohio taxes. It's GREAT for finding all of our deductions. I couldn't imagine trying to do taxes without it. BUT...every year there's a several hour snafu trying to figure out what it wants to know with respect to local taxes and Ohio's weird RITA requirements. For that reason, I always file our RITA return via the RITA efile site.
What's great about it: It's familiar because I've been using it since forever
What's not so great: It's never been able to figure out Ohio's RITA requriements
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Minor trouble

I had entered all my income when when my laptop's battery ran down and I lost all the entries. I thought entries were automatically saved.
What's great about it: complete forms were printed
What's not so great: calculations are sometimes out of sight.

2015 return

Might switch to another software next year after 40 years with Turbo tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: The Updater for 2015 Deluxe didn't work. I had to find out how to manually download updates & state s/w.
