Great Product... if you can get it to work

Almost gave this a 2-star/Fair rating. I purchased online and downloaded the Turbo Tax Deluxe - Federal with State Taxes. I've happily used Turbo Tax for years without any major issues... until this year. (I'm borrowing a PC since I have to repair my Mac.) The product is easy to use, especially since info. from the previous year's return were seamlessly transferred to 2015. The issues began with updating after first installing. It took a while to resolve the issue. (I forgot what happened or what I did to fix it.) However, when it came time to download the California State Tax software, there was an error updating it. I searched online at Intuit, but could not navigate to a central troubleshooting page for common technical issues (e.g., downloading, updating). There is little to NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THIS PRODUCT. All readily available Help and Support online are tax related (e.g., where do I enter job expenses? do I need Form ####?). I found a solution to my technical issues from OTHER HELPFUL USERS on the AnswerExchange Forum. I doubt there are many Intuit tech employees that actually answer questions on the forum regarding their own product. I even read reviews from users who found calculation errors within the program but ran into problems with customer service who couldn't resolve them. Thank God I didn't run into major problems this many days before the tax deadline. Intuit, you have a great product. However, minus one star because initial updates didn't work upon first installation (...in April ...a week before the tax deadline). Also, minus one star for not offering online technical support; the AnswerExchange forum is a nightmare to navigate through if you don't know how to phrase your question right. (So many costumer questions asking help for essentially the same issue.) Please, centralize solutions to common technical issues. I almost took away another star because the state update/download didn't initially work. Granted, it was an issue with Windows, but I didn't know that until a fellow user showed me how to fix it.
What's great about it: Super easy to use
What's not so great: No Tech Support for Common PC download/update problems

Rolling Thunder Return

I am more confident that my Federal and State income taxes are properly filed using TurboTax AND it is all done in my own home at my own desk. It took longer to gather the information from Checkbook Register Reviews than it did to complete the TurboTax program.
What's great about it: Simple, simple, simple - just read and answer
What's not so great: can not think of anything I did NOT like

Good for Taxes

Most was well done and worked quickly.
Two things not good:
a. Individual data not identified clearly in summaries of joint returen. Couldn't tell which spouse I was working on.
When faced with multiple IRA distribution forms 1099- R, the data was hard to identify by spouse for editing. It was not clear if data from same company should be combined or not.
b. Similiar problem with multiple 1099's for one spouse from one Payer.. I had to really dig to find out that this data Must be combined and could not be entered individually.
Two things not good:

We have been using TurboTax for many years now.It is very easy to use enters the info for you when possible. Wish it was a little cheaper.
