SURE EVERYTHING SEEMED GREAT UNTIL THE VERY END AT WHICH POINT THE PRINTING OPTION FAILED, EVEN AFTER I PAID FOR FILING FEE. ALSO HOW CAN I SEND PAYMENT TO IRS IF THE FINAL PAYMENT VOUCHER WAS NOT PRINTED AS INSTRUCTIONS SAID WOULD HAPPEN. VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE AND NO GREAT SAVINGS, AFTER THE PRODUCT PURCHASE AND TACKED ON E-FILING FEES
What's not so great: THE SYSTEM FAILED REPEATEDLY TO PRINT COMPLETED FORMS. aVOUCHER THAT WAS PROMISED TO PRINT AT END OF FILING NEVER PRINT

Turbo Tax Deluxe

I have been using TurboTax for over 30yrs. I love the product, it walks you through step by step. You can't go wrong. If you make a mistake, it will highlight it in red and ask you to review the entry and give suggestions.
I used paid tax payers in the past, and there were mistakes made and I had to pay for it. This was the reason I decided to start doing my own taxes and take my time. It does take time to go through the entire program, but it is worth it to make sure that everything is accurate and you can take your time, if you get tired, saved it, and come back to later. That's why Turbotax is a good program and it is user friendly.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is the best product to do your taxes
What's not so great: The only downside, I wish when you research a question, it provide more details and examples.

Special tax filer

When I started my taxes I ran into a problem with entering extra income. Program went into an infinite loop. Quit and waited a few days and when I logged in it did updates. When complete, problem was fixed and let me continue. Otherwise program worked well.
What's great about it: Interface was the same as last year.
What's not so great: Keeps wanting user to register and did not like user to select double sided printing.

I normally used to take days to complete my taxes by hand. Now, if i have done a good job saving the important paperwork, I can complete everything in an afternoon.
What's great about it: Fast and Easy to use and understand
What's not so great: If you have a detailed question, there is no easy way to get an answer.

QTP Distribution taxation Bug needs to be fixed.

There is a bug with Qualified Tuition Plans where the 1099-Q adds distributions to income even though I have qualified expenses to offset the distribution. This bug is clearly outlined in your online forums.
I had to do an override in the QTP calculation to fix this issue!

Overall Good with some bad

Overall TurboTax is good and I have used it and liked it for year. And I hope to continue to use it every year.
However, when it comes to stocks that you buy and sale. It does not except a loss. ie. buy at $1000 and sale at $950. It does not except negative number. This happened last year. I was stuck in an endless do loop. The only way out was to claim a gain and pay the additional tax. It was a small loss to it was also small gain and thus a small tax.
This year I again had trouble with stocks. The problem was a 10 stocks purchased many many years ago. These stocks were enrolled in dividend re-investments so last year I sold 170 stocks. It would not except a difference in the number of stocks without additional purchases. I was again stuck in an endless do loop.
Both of these issues should never occurred and hope that TurboTax with fix these issues.
